Worth's Hiking Recommendations
We love Colorado, in part because we love being outside - we hope you find some time while you're in town to get out into nature! Check out this document for some (hopefully) fun hiking recommendations, in and around Boulder!
Take a stroll or have a swim in Boulder Canyon
From here, take a stroll or bike ride up beautiful Boulder Canyon on the paved path. Or bring your bathing suit and swim in the creek with the locals. You can even rent a tube from nearby gas stations if you'd like to float down the creek.
Hike the Flatirons at Chautauqua Park
The quintessential Boulder outdoor experience. This is where you can see the Flatirons up close and personal. Hiking trails for any difficulty level.
Go shopping on the Pearl Street Mall
The heart of Boulder. Unique shops, restaurants, bars, coffee, and more.
Ride Bikes All Over the City
There are rentable e-bikes and regular bikes all over the city at these B-Cycle stations. Here's one that is downtown. More info at the link. Boulder has one of the best networks of bike paths in the country!
Museum of Boulder
Awesome history museum of the area for all you indoor cats.
Flagstaff Mountain
Drive to the views instead of hiking them! See Boulder on the front side and the stunning Continental Divide on the back side.
Red Rocks Trail
A low-key hike that you can walk to from Pearl Street in downtown Boulder. Very short walk up a hill to get to cool rocks and great views of downtown.
Sanitas Valley Trail
For a real workout of a hike. It's only a couple of miles but your glutes will put in work if you decide to do the whole thing. Katie and Worth got engaged on this trail!
St. Julien Hotel & Spa
The spa here is incredible. Get a massage. Or enjoy drinks on their patio. Live music outside on Friday nights.
Snooze, an A.M. Eatery
The go-to breakfast spot in Boulder. Prepare for a very long wait, but you can add your name to the waitlist on their app ahead of time. You MUST get a flight of pancakes. Katie's faves are the blueberry danish and cinnamon swirl pancakes.
Lucile's Creole Cafe
Another great breakfast spot with Louisiana cookin.' Highly recommend the cheesy jalapeno grits and beignets.
Walnut Cafe
If you'd like to get away from downtown for brunch, this spot is a Boulder classic. There are two locations: one at 3073 Walnut Street, and the other "Southside Walnut Cafe" in South Boulder. Get the blueberry cornbread.
Mountain Sun Pub & Brewery
The name says it all. An awesome, locally-owned business with good food and beer. The tempeh reuben is a favorite.
Avanti Food and Beverage Boulder
A food hall. The rooftop view is one of the very best in town, the cocktails are great, and the food is yummy.
Rosetta Hall
Another great food hall with delicious cocktails. Rooftop bar with views.
Oak
Get the kale salad and thank us later.
Half Fast Subs On The Hill
For casual sandwiches, buckets of cocktails, and the University of Colorado experience (this spot is located in "The Hill" neighborhood where the college is). Definitely get your sammy on their French bread. Our fave is the Thai Tempeh Crunch.
Rayback Collective
Cool spot with beer, cocktails, and lots of outdoor space. Have a rotating schedule of food trucks.
OZO Coffee
Best coffee shop in town. There are 2 locations in downtown Boulder, a block or so off either side of the pedestrian zone of the Pearl Street Mall.
Alpine Modern Café
The best avocado toast we've ever had. Plus very Scandinavian-chic vibes.
WONDER Press - Boulder (Pearl St)
Get a juice, smoothie, or bougie coffee drink to cure your hangover.
