Although never expecting to meet anyone, let alone a soul mate, Kim and I stumbled upon each other on Facebook dating. In this day and time of social media and the uncertainties of online relationships , I thought I’d take a chance and message her. Not knowing exactly how to start the conversation, I tried an ice breaker... “What was your first album?” I sent my answer with the question, hoping to get it started - Footloose. Low and behold, she has a love for 80’s music and we instanly had a connection. The conversation just went from there. We found we had a lot in common. The messages flowed by the dozens and then by the hundreds, eventually becoming texts and phone conversations. Despite being way out of her comfort zone, she reluctantly agreed to meet me in person. I was nervous, but not nearly as a nervous as her. It was a Sunday evening, Super Bowl Sunday to be exact. It was casual - just keeping the atmosphere relaxing for both of us. We both had a great time and decided we would like to see each other again. Our connection coalesced that day, only growing stronger and more solid with each and every moment we had together, whether in person or simply just texting. The more time we spent together, the more we knew we were meant to be with each other!
