Richard and Catherine met in middle school where Richard's bad pickup lines delayed the start of their relationship. Sophomore year of high school Catherine made the first move sitting in math class with an equally bad pick up line... "Do you still hate me?" (For rejecting him in middle school). From there, Richard and Catherine became close friends, bonding over both being on the Varsity soccer team and driving Ford Mustangs. The summer after sophomore year, Richard and Catherine played pick up soccer together almost every day and on July 17th, 2014 Richard finally made their relationship official. They spent the rest of high school together playing soccer, eating way too much Chipotle, and secretly imagining their futures together. Catherine went off to college in 2016 but they continued their relationship long distance until Catherine graduated. Richard kept Catherine on her toes not knowing when exactly he would propose (within Catherine’s set window of: “between graduation and surgery.”) Richard proposed on December 23rd, 2019, after a steak dinner (Catherine’s favorite!) on a dock in Annapolis, MD. While Catherine doesn’t remember all that was said in between her tears, she said yes and so began the planning of their big day! Catherine admires Richard's radiant positivity, strong values and cultural traditions, his Servant’s heart, and above all, his steadfast faith. Catherine can’t wait to see all of Richard’s best qualities shine through in their children one day. Richard admires Catherine’s caring nature, determined mindset, and her perseverance through life's hard times. Richard appreciates how family-centric Catherine is and can't wait to see her become a mother one day. Catherine and Richard have grown into young adults together as they have navigated life’s ups and downs hand in hand over the past 6 years. They look forward to joining in the Covenant of marriage and cannot wait to celebrate with their friends and family!
