Wedding Party

Molly Wixson

Bride

Molly left an impression on Nate their first meeting, by making up a song around a campfire at an improv camp. The connection might never have become mutual except for Molly's generous spirit, and can-do attitude, as she invited Nate and Geoff to stay with her in LA for a week. Since they've been together, Nate has enjoyed her love notes, thirst for adventure, and appreciation of connection for its own sake.

Nate Parsons

Groom

Molly knew that there was something special about Nate from their instant chemistry and his ability to make her laugh at anything. Nate is creative, talented, smart, kind, generous, and willing. Nate advocates for change in the world and hopes to leave it better than he found it. On a trip to Europe together, Molly knew that Nate would be more than a friend when he jumped over a fence at the Cliffs of Mohr to pick up litter. Nate has made Molly fall in love with him through his loving surprises, patience, DUM jokes, and literal dreamboat self.

Laurel Klein

Matron of Honor

The adults lay Laurel down next to Molly, a sweet angel newborn baby, in her hospital bed and Laurel reached over and stole Molly’s pacifier with her chubby, grubby one year old hand. It was the beginning of their beautiful sisterhood born out of competition, witticisms, and most importantly love.

Nathan Climer

Best Man

Nathan and Nate met the same day Nate met Jason, but a few hours later, when Nathan came to pick Jason up from their mutual friend Francis’ house. Nathan appeared in the doorway of Francis’ bedroom. Nate looked over to Jason who had been sitting there the whole time and up at the doorway to Jason’s face, Nathan, staring at him from the doorway. Since then Nate has had no trouble telling Nathan apart from Jason. Nathan has a huge heart, a wry sense of humor, and tells it like it is.

Sallie McComas

Matron of Honor

An almost 15 year old Sallie held a one year old Laurel on a fateful morning in July 1988. The small town wasn’t quite awake yet, but there was action in the room. A few hours later Sallie would hold baby Molly. Although Molly doesn’t recall this moment or any of the following moments exactly, she’s pretty sure that even then Sallie was just as wise, supportive, and generous as the sister Molly has come to depend on today.

Jason Climer

Groomsman

Nate met Jason in middle school while filming scenes from Hitchcock’s 39 Steps for a mutual friend, Francis. Nate knew nothing about the movie or how to do a fight scene which was made clear when Nate punched Jason right in the nose. True to form Jason didn’t miss a beat. Jason always brings passion, kindness, and a love of knowledge to everything he does.

Emilee Harrison

Bridesmaid

Molly moved to Lincoln Elementary in 1st grade to follow Laurel to a new school. Molly didn’t have any friends yet and sat on the bench at recess for those who owed time to their teachers. Emilee was sitting there too. Molly asked “Are you in trouble?” Emilee replied “No.” They walked off into the sunset that day, never mind that it was daytime at school, forging a friendship that has spanned many years, states, and haikus.

Tulissa Parsons

Groomswoman

Nate was very excited to have a little sister. He helped the nurse in pushing Tulissa’s cart around the hospital after she was born. Tulissa quickly caught up to Nate and they became the best of friends playing “baby to baby.” Tulissa became the one in charge and when she’d say “I would like to play now” Nate would simply respond “Cowabunga” and was more than happy to oblige. Nate is thankful for Tulissa for not only being a wonderful, caring, and talented sister, but also because without her hard hitting questions he would not have been made aware of how deeply he loved Molly.

Rain Coleman

Bridesmaid

Rain walked into that 3rd grade class, fresh back from Alaska, and everyone was so excited to see her. Molly haaad to know this girl. By 4th grade they were thick as thieves and have remained so even with Molly insisting on calling her Rainy Brainy and asking “where’s my bar?” a callback to a missing granola bar that Molly can’t seem to drop.

Geoff Parsons

Groomsman

Nate remembers Grandma Deegan picking up himself and Tulissa from the bus stop and learning of Geoff’s birth and feeling so excited to have a baby brother! Nate was delighted to share in Geoff’s interests as they changed over time from trucks to dinosaurs to marching band. While Nate is no longer able to carry Geoff up and down the stairs in his toy car, Nate is beyond proud of the man Geoff has grown up to be and still delighted to share in his interests along the way. Nate is thankful that Geoff showed interest in colleges in Los Angeles so that Nate would have a need to stay in Los Angeles and post for lodging and Molly would have the chance to answer.

Abigail McComas

Bridesmaid

Molly watched Abigail come into this world and quickly be whisked away. Babies are so temperamental. Hours later Molly cooed over the perfect little one that would grow into the adolescent that once threw a fit about ordering a sandwich as her treat instead of the shortbread cookie her wise Auntie Molly ordered. With the passing of more years, Abigail has grown into the gorgeous and passionate young woman Molly couldn’t possibly be more proud of.

Maren McComas

Bridesmaid

Molly was taking her first real road trip with her brand new driver’s license to see Maren born, buuuut Maren had other ideas and decided to wait until Auntie Molly left to make her debut. Maren has always done things in her own spectacular way and is the kindest, most generous, and loving sprite.

Annabelle Klein

Flower Girl

Molly’s niece! She’s 6 and loves to read, be in charge of her siblings, and is the definition of "sass."

Brynley Klein

Flower Girl

Molly’s niece! She’s 3, incredibly adventurous but also very shy, and will eat all your blueberries and cherry tomatoes if you aren't looking.

Carson Klein

Ring Bearer

Molly’s nephew! He’s 4 and refers to himself as "the ring burier" which used to be an accident but now he understands and makes jokes about hiding the rings. Uh oh. He likes dinosaurs, twirly skirts, and hanging out with his sisters.

Mr. Darcy

Ring Bearer

The best dog. He loves broccoli stems, snuggles, and walks without his leash.

Ellie Maas

MC

Ellie is Molly's dear friend. They met when Molly left "the key under the basil", letting a stranger enter her life and her heart. Ellie is the friendliest and easiest person to talk to you'll meet. Ever. She packs a king size punch in a fun size package. Get ready to dance the night away and keep the party going with the best Elephant in the world!

Ian McPhee

Officiant

Ian is a great friend of both Molly and Nate. He was the biggest cheerleader in getting them together when they were “just friends.” Ian is a delight, pure gem, and Molly and Nate could not imagine anyone else marrying them.

Joe Wixson

Father of the Bride

Joe is a man who loves the blues, the outdoors, and a tasty treat. Preferably all together. If you challenge him to a cribbage game you are asking for trouble. He was born with a mischievous grin so you’ll probably get trouble either way. He makes a great dance and conversation partner, and seems to know something about everything.

Stephen Parsons

Father of the Groom

Stephen knows everything about cities, architecture, and local history of places you wouldn't expect. We'll prep him on Walnut Creek, don't worry. If you want to get his gabber going bring up a puzzle you enjoyed doing or the infamous "triple entendre" Steve has tried to tame.

Nancy Morse

Mother of the Bride

Nancy would have loved this day. She would have loved the desserts, the flowers, the music, and meeting all of you. She would have loved meeting all of you so much that she would have talked your ears off and she might not have let you leave. She would have given a really beautiful heartfelt speech. Or lots. Nancy would have cried and then Molly would have cried too (Molly is a really easy cry). Nancy will be missed this day and all days.

Patreena Parsons

Mother of the Groom

Patreena is a woman of many talents. Not only is she a statistician for Johns Hopkins, a software project manager, a nutritional biochemist, a runner, a marching band mom, an amazing seamstress (she MADE the bridesmaids skirts!!!), Parsons' family genealogist, but she also has a cute dog named Chewy.
