Welcome to the Wisseman Wedding!

The first time I saw Bree was at the annual Graduate Assistant cookout at Dr. Mike Saunders’s house, just before the start of the 2018 school year. It was her first year as a grad student and my second. As soon as I saw her, I had to talk to her. I was overcome by a feeling I had never felt before. After a couple weeks of really high quality flirting, I asked Bree out to Kline's Ice Cream for what I thought was our first date (that's a whole other story). She said Yes! I picked her up on Friday night in my 2016 Ford Fiesta ST (a true driver’s car). We ordered our shakes and went back to the car to sit in the neon glow of the Kline’s sign. Over the next hour and a half, I fell in love with the girl of my dreams. She was funny, smart, witty, and on top of all that, she was gorgeous. I didn’t realize it at the time, but it was going to take 3 more months to convince her to officially start dating me. Those months contained some of my lowest moments, there were times when I thought my soul mate was going to slip right through my fingers and there was nothing I could do. Every day I’m grateful that things ended up the way they did, and that I’ll get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing woman in the world.

For my birthday right after we started dating, Scott made us a dinner that was entirely from scratch (yes, I'm talking down to the bread and pasta). He chose all of my favorite foods and even made our friends taste test before to be sure it was perfect. I had never felt more special and loved than that night when he went so far above and beyond for me. It was that night, I knew I had found a remarkable love. Shortly after starting dating, in the back of my head, I think I always knew Scott and I would be forever. But it really hit me a few months after, when we took a weekend getaway trip to Wintergreen. As we sat eating dinner having a beer and repeatedly belly laughing, the realization really hit me: I wouldn't want to walk through life with anyone else. Scott is charming, passionate, loving, patient, and the kindest person I have ever met. Never in my wildest dreams did I anticipate him, but I am so grateful that I have someone so special to love and to love me endlessly.
