Travel Note
There are different modes of transport from the Auckland International Airport to Auckland city. One of the fastest (if you have a modest amount luggage) is the Skybus. Buses depart every 10 minutes during peak times. One way for 1 adult is NZ$19. You can buy the tickets online ahead of time but it's also easy to get the ticket at the booth where the buses will pick you up. They accept cards. Taxis and Uber are also available. Taxi ranks are located outside the arrivals area (door 8) at the international terminal and outside door 4 at the domestic terminal. The average rate is NZ$70 one-way to the Ferry Terminal/CBD.
Travel Note
Waiheke is accessible by ferry. The Downtown Ferry Terminal is in the middle of Auckland’s CBD. The Waiheke Ferry usually sails every 30 minutes starting from 6AM to 11.45PM during workdays. If you think that you'll stay mostly in the island, you may get a round trip ticket for NZ$45/pp. If you will be traipsing between the island and the city multiple times, consider a multiple ticket (10 trips) which you can use for up to 4 people per voyage. There is also a round trip family pass. Visit the Fuller’s website for more details [https://www.fullers.co.nz/timetables-and-fares/?from=AUCK&to=WAIH]. If you wish to bring your car to the Island, then visit Sealink’s website [https://www.sealink.co.nz/timetables-fares/waiheke/half-moon-bay-waiheke] for more details.
