We met at a business cocktail party hosted by a common friend. Wish was the event organiser, Luke was a guest. Luke was new in town and Wish used to help new expats acclimatise to crazy Manila. We were both craving Japanese food after watching sushi chefs on TV. Luke invited Wish for what was expected to be an uneventful Japanese dinner. We met at an innocuous pub in Chinatown and then to a short walk to Sydney’s finest restaurant, Tetsuya's. After ordering Rosé champagne and while waiting for the first course, Luke took out a small satchel and started making an important speech, produced a ring, and popped the question!
