We knew each other since Grade-9. After high school, we sometimes crossed paths in SAT classes or libraries but we were not that close. Wint went to college in 2011, and we met again when Htut Khine joined the same college next year. We got closer after our Thanksgiving trip to Chicago with a big group of friends, and started hanging out more, being in the same major and having similar background. The rest leads to this day we are going to celebrate.

Htut Khine prepared the proposal on Wint’s birthday amidst the stressful days from applying jobs, prepping interviews, school, classes. He went back and forth to LA from San Diego like 4 times to buy the ring. And Wint likes puzzles, so Htut Khine went around Balboa Park in San Diego and took polaroid pictures of the places. Treasure hunting those places provided hints about the dinner reservation. The restaurant was on a deck out on the sea with the view of the San Diego skyline, which was on Wint's to-go list in San Diego. There, Htut Khine showed a video of memories all throughout the years of relationship, travels, places, special occasions. At the end of the video, Htut Khine was on one knee, and proposed.
