Getting to House of YesGetting to House of Yes

No matter how you plan to arrive, please note that car/train/subway traffic in NYC can be VERY unpredictable (take it from us). To avoid headaches, we recommend adding extra travel time depending on your circumstances: +1 hour: coming from outside NYC +30 minutes: coming from within NYC but outside north Brooklyn +15-20 minutes: coming across north Brooklyn +30 minutes: retrieving a car from valet parking prior to traveling If you plan to travel around Brooklyn or Manhattan, rideshare apps (Uber/Lyft) or public transport are often easier than driving and parking, especially in crowded downtown areas. Yellow/green taxi cabs are also a good option for Manhattan and often cheaper than Uber/Lyft. Also note that Manhattan-Brooklyn trips can be expensive with Uber/Lyft (>$50 per trip), so for these, other means of traveling may be preferable. Be sure to check travel prices and times before you head out to avoid headaches!

ParkingParking

It is generally possible to find parking near House of Yes, and it should be free on the day of the wedding (hello Sunday)! However, if you would like to park in a garage for any reason, you can book a spot in one and then use an Uber or Lyft to get to House of Yes. The trusted norm for garage parking in NYC is valet, *not* self-park. Before booking, just be sure to check garage hours (some close overnight) and prices ($20 for 12 hours is typical). The SpotHero app/website is a great way to reserve parking in NYC (https://spothero.com/); you can make a reservation as soon as you are ready.

To get to House of Yes From Manhattan: From Union Square Station, take the L train towards Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway. Ride to Jefferson St. Station; House of Yes is a 2-minute walk away. From JFK/LGA airport areas or downtown Brooklyn: Take the M train towards Middle Village / Metropolitan Ave. and ride to to Myrtle-Wyckoff Station. House of Yes is a 5-minute walk away. We recommend checking the MTA website before you travel, since there may be service changes on weekends.

There are 3 international airports near NYC: John F. Kennedy (JFK, in Queens, NY); LaGuardia (LGA, in Queens); and Newark Liberty (EWR, in Newark, NJ). LaGuardia is the closest of the 3, but travel from any is reasonable enough that we recommend going with whatever location has the cheapest airfare. From JFK Airport: Taxi/Rideshare: Trips to north Brooklyn take about 45-60 minutes in reasonable traffic, and cost about $70. Public Transit: Takes about 65-70 minutes and costs about $11. Take the AirTrain ($8) to Howard Beach Station, then take the A/C subway train to Broadway Junction and transfer to the L train (headed towards Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway); take the L train to Jefferson St. From LaGuardia Airport: Taxi/Rideshare: Trips to north Brooklyn take about 30-40 minutes and cost about $45-60. Public Transit: Takes about 60 minutes and costs $2.90. Take the Q70 bus (free) to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave. Station, then take any of the E/F/M/R trains into Manhattan and transfer to the L train (towards Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway) and ride to Jefferson St. E/F/M trains: transfer at 14 St. / 8 Ave. station. R train: transfer at 14 St.-Union Square. From Newark Airport: Taxi/Rideshare: Trips to North Brooklyn take ~60-90 minutes depending on traffic and cost $100-125. The train is the easiest option for travel from this airport. Public Transit: Takes ~90 minutes and costs about $18. Take the NJ Transit train from the airport to NY Penn Station. Then, take the L train toward Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway and ride to Jefferson St. Newark Express Bus: Takes about 60-90 minutes and costs around $23; please note bus tickets should be purchased beforehand and buses leave every 45 minutes or so. Take the bus from the airport to the Port Authority Bus Terminal. Then, take the A/C/E train to the 14 St. / 8 Ave. station, transfer to the L train towards Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway, and ride it to Jefferson St.
