The wedding venue is called Quinta da Bichinha located an hour outside of the Lisbon area. Quinta Da Bichinha is a centuries-old wine estate rehabilitated as a wedding venue. The ancient cellars of the Quinta are a cozy and unique space, encircled by opulent gardens and extensive vineyards. Outside, guests can relax in the open gardens and breathtaking vineyards. Wedding Venue: Quinta Da Bichinha Address: Estr. de Vila Chã, 2580-413, Portugal Tel: +351 962 057 836 Website: https://www.quintadabichinha.pt/en/
Please join us as our guests at the Quinta. Your room has been taken care of for the nights of December 28th and 29th.
We recommend flying into Lisbon's main international airport, Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS).
We will host events at Quinta da Bichinha on Dec 28-30, and everything else is up to you! However, we strongly recommend that you fly into Lisbon a day early to give yourself time for jet lag and exploring the city.
For those arriving in Lisbon before Dec 28, we will have a hotel room block available. Additional details are forthcoming—we’ll share booking information as soon as it’s confirmed.
Late December in Lisbon is usually pretty mild. Daytime temperatures are typically in the upper 50s to low 60s Fahrenheit, with evenings dropping into the upper 40s. It’s one of the wetter months, so you might get some light rain or showers, but it’s often mixed with dry spells and some sunshine. Overall, it feels cool rather than cold — comfortable for walking around with a light jacket during the day.
Unfortunately not, we will have the venue all to ourselves for the 2 nights (Dec 28th and 29th). There will be other weddings before and after us that week, so there is no option to extend your stay at the venue.
Absolutely! If you prefer to stay off-site, you're welcome to book a nearby hotel. Our recommended options include: Casa do Alfaro, Dolce CampoReal Lisboa, and Hotel Vila D'Arcos.
Portugal's currency is euros, but most credit cards are widely accepted. We have found that American Express cards; however, are not readily accepted by most vendors due to their higher fees. You can take out euros from your bank in the US to avoid costly exchange rate fees at the airport. All meals and drinks at the venue will be covered, so you will only need to pay for things before and after your stay at Quinta da Bichinha.
Visa is not required. You will need a valid U.S. passport with at least six months remaining from departure date before it expires.
Getting around Lisbon is easy and convenient. We recommend using Bolt (a rideshare app similar to Uber) for getting around the city. Renting a car while staying in Lisbon can be challenging due to the narrow, historic streets and limited parking, but if you plan to drive to the venue, the highways are straightforward and easy to navigate.
