Our Elopement

Cecilia and Wilson first met in college through mutual friends. At that time, their meeting was nothing more than a fleeting moment that was soon forgotten. A few years later they reconnected due to the release of the video game, Overwatch. Cecilia had no one to play with and their mutual friends told her to reach out to Wilson, and from there, their relationship developed. Wilson impressed Cecilia for the first time when he carried the game with 73 eliminations as Soldier 76 during a 4 AM gaming session. Even during these early memories, Cecilia supported Wilson with solo-revives as Mercy (which meant she either was terrible in the game or that she just trusted in Wilson alone). In turn, Cecilia impressed Wilson for the first time when she ate more than him at a sushi buffet. With their shared love of video games and food, they connected further during a trip to Seattle. Since then, they have been inseparable as a team, regardless of what life has thrown at them, their teamwork had only strengthened over the years. They have a wonderful, shy dog and a home filled with memories that their family and closest friends share with them.

Cecilia and Wilson returned to Seattle in 2019, with plans to go to the same convention that sparked their relationship but now with some of their closest friends. The day they landed, Wilson planned a date perfect for both of them. They went directly from the airport to Sushi Kashiba, where they enjoyed their favorite omakase dinner to date. Afterward, they walked through Pike Place Market, where Wilson bought a beautiful bouquet of flowers for Cecilia. It had begun to rain, which Cecilia deems a sign of good luck. They slowly made their way to the pier and returned to the Ferris wheel, which was an activity they did together during the first visit. The Ferris wheel was especially meaningful because it embodied both an area of comfort as well as a fear. Cecilia has a love for the sky, but a fear of water. Wilson has a love for the sea, but a fear of heights. This crossroad was the perfect place for both of them to make the promise of spending the rest of their lives together. The promise to comfort each other in areas that trouble the other, and to always dare to go outside their comfort zone knowing that they have one another. Wilson did just that and proposed in a carriage suspended 175 feet in the air, and Cecilia happily accepted while ugly-crying. Wilson said he knew he was going to propose to Cecilia at the Ferris wheel after the very first time they went aboard it in 2016. They proceeded to spend the rest of the week in one of their favorite cities with friends, celebrating and having a great time.
