Flight
For our guests who need to fly or simply enjoy the miracle of human flight: You can fly directly into Martha's Vineyard Airport, the very cute little airport on the Vineyard. But probably don't! During the off-season flights get expensive, so only opt for this if you can't make other arrangements. Otherwise, we recommend flying into Boston Logan Airport. From there you can rent a car and drive the delightful hour and a half to the ferry in Wood's Hole on Cape Cod. You can also take a Peter Pan Bus from Logan Airport directly to Wood's Hole if you prefer, but we recommend having a car on the island!
Rental Car
The best way to get to Martha's Vineyard is by car! Drive onto the ferry on Cape Cod in Wood's Hole, and drive off the ferry in Vineyard Haven. When you cross the Bourne Bridge onto Cape Cod, get in the mood by turning on your radio to FM 88.7 for WMVY, the Vineyard's best radio station. Once you get to Wood's Hole, you can take your car onto the ferry (see next note). You can also park at the Palmer Parking Lot in Falmouth, MA, and take the free shuttle bus to the ferry, but we recommend bringing a car over. You need a vehicle to get from town to town on Martha's Vineyard, but there are also limited taxis and Ubers and Lyfts and buses (especially limited in November). Bring a car if you can. It is also possible to rent a car on the island. The world is your oyster!
Travel Note
You're almost there! Just 45 minutes of seafaring to go. Once you arrive at the Woods Hole Terminal, you will check in for your boat reservation. You make this reservation *IN ADVANCE* (I cannot stress this enough [book your boat when you RSVP if you can]) on the Steamship Authority website. Make sure you book a time that allows for delays due to traffic or stopping for fried clams or Dunkin' or whatever. You also need passenger tickets ($10 each way), which can be purchased either with the car reservation, or separately on the website. Passenger tickets aren't timed or dated, so they can be used whenever you take the ferry. If you have time, stop for a delicious popover at Pie in the Sky Bakery! If not, the ferry has Swedish Fish.
Hotel
You made it! Let the stresses of the mainland slip away. You're an Islander now. But after such a trek, you're exhausted. You need a place to rest, to rejuvenate, to get a massage even? Welcome to The Mansion House Inn. Steps from the ferry, this beautiful hotel will play host to most of the wedding guests. It's a really lovely place: great rooms, a pool, a spa, antique sailing paraphernalia, attached to a brand-new restaurant. What more could you need? This will be the only location with transportation to and from the wedding venue. We don't have a block, so please book your room AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! That way we can be sure of accommodations for everyone! We'll probably take over the whole hotel, so if any of the guests are bothering you, tell us instead of the front desk- we'll take care of it. For reservations, call 508-693-2200 or visit the hotel's website. DO NOT book through any 3rd party booking agency unless you want to pay more!
House Or Rental
Hotels are great, but sometimes you just want to stay in a place with a kitchen. If that's you, the Vineyard has a great selection of Airbnbs and Vrbos. Feel free to book a big farmhouse with a group of other wedding guests for a commune experience! www.airbnb.com www.vrbo.com
House Or Rental
This is Bonnie and Harry Levy's house, the parents of the groom. There are a few bedrooms, plus a futon in the basement. First-come, first-served.
