Flight
The Nanaimo airport is closest to Duncan, and the Victoria airport is about a 90-minute drive. If you want to fly to Vancouver, and take the ferry over, that's an option, just remember you need to reserve the ferry (if driving on)!
Travel Note
If you are planning on driving out, make sure you reserve your ferry well ahead of time! Ferries book up all summer, and will definitely sell out on the long weekend so book as soon as you know your travel plans. From Tsawwassen (South Vancouver): Book to Schwartz Bay (1.5 hrs - Victoria) or Duke Point (2 hrs -Nanaimo). Schwartz Bay is about a 90 minute drive to Duncan, Duke Point is about 40 minutes. From Horseshoe Bay (West Vancouver): Book to Departure Bay (Nanaimo). 1.5 hr ferry ride and about a 45-minute drive to Duncan.
Hotel
Cowichan Bay is a super cute little town about 20 minutes away from the venue! We have booked a block of rooms here as well that range from $237/night - $307/night, you have until May 29th to book these by calling the front desk and using the Group Name Hopkins Beck Wedding. If you book through the website, use the group code (case sensitive): HopBeck If you want a different room type than those we've blocked out, you can still get a discounted rate with our group code, but you need to contact the hotel manager directly (ask Willow or Dylan for their contact info).
Hotel
Only hotel in Duncan, about a 15 minute drive from the venue - we've booked a block of rooms for $289/night that you can book with the Group Name: The Beck/Hopkins Wedding. Must book by July 29th to reserve a room at that rate.
Hotel
This hotel is in Chemainus, about a 30-minute drive from the venue (and 5 minutes from Willow's parents house). We have also booked a block of rooms here at $225/night. Book by July 29th using the Group Name: The Beck/Hopkins Wedding to get that rate.
Travel Note
There are lots of Airbnb's in the Cowichan Valley if you want to rent a house! If camping is your thing, make sure you book a site ASAP as they book up quickly (especially on long weekends). Provincial sites become available 4 months in advance (starting April 29th), and there are several nearby private sites that you can try. We recommend finding somewhere to stay in the Cowichan Valley (anywhere in Duncan, Cowichan Bay, Shawnigan Lake, Mill Bay, Ladysmith, Chemainus, Crofton, or Lake Cowichan), but if you want to book something in Nanaimo or Victoria, it'll be about an hour drive to the venue.
Travel Note
We have arranged transportation home from the venue at the end of the night to make sure everyone can let loose if they want to and get home safe. Since people are staying all over the valley, the transportation service will be able to take you directly home. The service will start at 10PM and go until 1230AM. Please note that cabs are not very reliable in the area, and there is no Uber! We have access to the venue until noon the next day, so feel free to leave your vehicle there overnight, it's perfectly safe, and Dylan or Willow can help you figure out a ride to pick up your car the next day (or text/email us before hand and we can help you figure out carpooling on the way there!)
