How We Met

Tale as old as time...... you know the one where the boy falls for his friend's sister

The Murphy's and the Willmschen's had actually known each other since Sarah and Emily (Scott's sister) had done ballet together as children. Crazy to think that while Scott was sitting through yet another performance of the nutcracker as an unamused but supportive older brother, he actually was watching his future bride as well! Scott became friends with Sarah's brother Michael around high school, so Scott and Sarah knew of each other but hadn't really ever met. It wasn't until 2015 when Sarah had moved home from living in New York that they actually started hanging out. On St. Patricks day that year Scott realized he was falling for Sarah. He didn't know if it was the green beer, Irish car bombs, or the dancing that made him realize she was the one but from that day forward they were inseparable. For the past couple years they have celebrated St. Patty's day as their anniversary. After a couple months they moved into a house together with Scott's pup Indy. A couple months after that they got a new addition to the family Arlow, a little brother to keep Indy company, making them a family of four.

The Proposal

Scott realized it was about time that he put a ring on Sarah's finger. He took her parents out to eat to ask them for their daughter's hand in marriage. They couldn't say yes fast enough! Months later Scott took both his mom and Sarah's mom to a jeweler to help him decide the perfect ring. He knew exactly what Sarah wanted, no idea how, must have seen her pinterest page or something, she definitely never showed him or bugged him that is unlike her. He decided he would do it at the Murphy family Christmas party. Sarah had her suspicions but she didn't want to get her hopes up. He proposed during white elephant making sure he was last and pretending to steal her gift, which confused her. He then made her stand as he got down on one knee. "Sarah Murphy, I love this life that we have created together and I want to make more memories with you. I love you, I want you to be my wife, will you marry me?" Stunned, Sarah of course said "YES".
