Our paths first crossed in college at a skating rink with mutual friends, but we didn’t say a word to each other that night. A few months later, Chase posted a video from downtown Meridian where he was jokingly “interviewing” a cat for a work story. It just so happened to be the same cat I had been trying (and failing!) to pet for years when I worked downtown. Somehow, she loved Chase right away. I couldn’t believe it. Jealous, I had to message him to ask how he pulled it off. That cat ended up being the spark that started everything. From then on, we talked every single day, and it wasn’t long before Chase asked me to be his girlfriend. He bribed me with flowers and tickets to see my favorite band three months from then—he always jokes that he knew I couldn’t resist, so he had three months to make me fall in love with him. Well, it worked! I would’ve said yes even without the tickets, but they were definitely a nice bonus. And now here we are. The rest, as they say, is history!
