We met way back when we were kids, it was inevitable since our families have known each other forever. When we all lived on Mary Street, I would go with my pop-pop Frank across the street and a few houses down to visit the Markell's. It didn't take long for us to become (best) friends. It also didn't take long for Billy to develop a crush. But remember, we were both children so the feelings were anything but mutual. Through a series of unfortunate events, words were exchanged and we stopped being friends for a long time....like 5+ years. Eventually I came around to the idea of being friends with Billy again, once I was done being mad that he was mean to little 10-year-old me. Let's face it, we both could have handled everything better. But, it all worked out in the end. We started dating on and off....and on and off....and on and off....back in my sophomore year. Which leads us here, almost 10 years later.
The engagement came as a complete shock. Billy is, and will always be, a man of few words. It wasn’t the grandest of proposals but it had our closest friends (and live video) there so it was perfect.
