How We Met

Sometime in 2012!

William and Mary have known each other for so long, neither can quite remember the day they first met! They grew up in Grace Church and spent many fun days together as friends. As they got older, they started to grow closer, and it wasn't long before everyone thought they were dating. On Halloween of 2017, William realized he was in love with Mary as they carved pumpkins together. Just before Christmas of that same year, Mary realized she was in love with William as they held hands and ice-skated around a glistening Christmas tree. On December 15 of 2017, they confessed their love on the same old worn couch that they'd passed so many hours on watching films and playing games together. When they finally told their friends and family they were a couple, everyone's response was the same: "we know!" Which is why it's always said that Bill and Mary were the last to find out they were dating.

The Proposal

08.03.2023

On August 3, 2023, William packed a delicious picnic lunch for him & Mary and took her on a very special date to Hecksher Park. The sun was shining as they strolled through the gardens to watch the ducks and turtles swim in the pond. He laid out a picnic blanket for them in a soft grassy pasture. When they had finished their lunch, William began to tell Mary how some people might fear the future, but he could never be afraid of any day spent by her side. He told her he would love her forever, and how she was the greatest blessing God had ever given him. As she lay on the blanket in the sun, William actually got up on one knee to ask Mary Lynn to marry him. She was so overjoyed (and surprised!) that she almost forgot to say yes! Thankfully it didn’t take her too long to remember, and after placing the ring on her finger, William scooped her into his arms and held her close as she cried happy tears. They spent a perfect afternoon gazing at the clouds and listening to their song, “Perfect” by Ed Sheehan, because “they were just kids when they fell in love.” ♡
