Marjorie LOVED living in Alexandria. We hope you enjoy your stay. This is a list that Visit Alexandria put together.
Saturday from 7 am to noon The breakfast sandwiches from Hog Haven are highly recommended and worth the wait. About a 1-block walk from the hotel.
This is the starting point of a great walk along the Potomac River. Take the city sidewalk south on Union Street and enter the city's trails at the Windmill Hill Park. Enter the park and head back to King Street along a series of city trails, parks, and promenades. Route includes gravel, concrete, stairs, and historic markers and memorials. It is a nice 1- mile stroll, starting and and ending at King and Union Streets. * There is a also a playground at this location!!!
Amazing independent book store!
Restaurant and/or museum
Try to get together a group of 4. We had our "real" first date here.
From the Alexandria King Street Metro station you can be in downtown DC in about 25 minutes. Take the Blue Line towards Largo for Arlington Cemetery, Pentagon City Mall, or Smithsonian Stations.
