Hi everyone—thank you so much for coming to our wedding! We really appreciate the effort many of you are making to travel across the country to Asheville, where Will grew up. We both love the mountains of North Carolina and hope you enjoy them as much as we do. Here’s a little background on what brought us to this day… We first met in November 2020 while both living in New York City. Gaby had recently started her graduate physical therapy program at Columbia, and Will was working in the city, living with four college buddies from Wake Forest... After our first date on a Thursday night in the West Village, Will—knowing he was flying home for six weeks that Sunday (COVID times were crazy)—decided we needed to go out one more time. Thankfully, Gaby agreed. That Saturday morning we were eating breakfast and walking through Central Park; to this day, Gaby still questions why she ordered an omelette instead of pancakes, a decision she has never repeated. We kept in touch over the next several weeks and continued to see each other once Will returned. Five years later, at Lake Keowee, Will proposed to Gaby while vacationing with his family, secretly bringing Gaby’s family down to share in the moment—and here we are, committing the rest of our lives to one another. Some of our most memorable moments together include living in a van while hiking through Nevada and southern Utah after Gaby’s PT graduation, going to brunch one Saturday and impulsively rescuing two elderly dogs with three total eyes (shout out Sasha and Gaara), and trying new things—like a beer-drinking bonsai-making class at a brewery that Will gifted Gaby for Christmas. But most importantly, we cherish spending time with our family and friends and are so grateful for all the close relationships in our lives. We are beyond excited to celebrate on October 3rd and can’t wait to party with you all!
