Jodi and William met online in January 2021. They clicked immediately, their conversations flowing easily with the unspoken knowledge that something special was happening between them. There was only one complication: William lived 431 miles away in Idaho. He had been hoping to move since 2019, but COVID and a world in chaos put his plans on hold. Still, distance didn’t stop them. They finally met in person on September 21, 2021. Their first week together was full of adventures around Portland—including a magical trip to Halloweentown. By the time William flew home, he knew he wanted to see her again and again… and again. So he did. Whether it meant using every three-day weekend, splitting holidays with family, or saving up vacation days, William made the trip to Portland whenever he could. Everything changed for them in June 2022 when William got a job in Portland and made the big move. From there, their world grew even bigger. They collected memories and inside jokes as their connection grew deeper with every mile traveled together between Ireland, California, Motana, and Idaho. Then, on September 28, 2025, William brought Jodi back to the place where their first adventure began: Halloweentown. Surrounded by the charm and nostalgia of that special spot, he asked her to marry him-–exactly four years after their first visit. And now, in September 2026, we gather to celebrate the journey that grew across state lines and led to a love story they can’t wait to continue forever.
