The entire Point Reyes region is spectacular, with great options for hiking, beaches (the cold California kind), and sight-seeing. We love this part of the world and highly encourage you to explore.
Point Reyes Station is the little gem of a town in the area. There’s a bunch of food and shopping options here. Recommend the Roadhouse for BBQ, Cafe Reyes for oysters/pizza, or Side Street Kitchen for casual lunch.
Get a table outside at The Boat Bar and down oysters right along the water - the quintessential Tomales Bay experience. Reservations run out pretty quickly so book this early!
Another great seafood and oyster option (and the grilled cheese is really good), with indoor and outdoor seating. Reservations also highly recommended.
A cute little meadery (honey wine?) just by Point Reyes Station. They offer tastings and a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy their produce. We saw a snake there once.
Another adorable place to get some cheese, wine, and sit by an idyllic pond to soak up the Marin fall weather.
For those wanting to venture slightly farther, Stinson Beach is just down south and has food, beaches, and seaside rock-climbing.
If you’re looking for a more intense hike, the Stream-French-Steep Ravine trail will take you up and down, with views of the SF skyline on a clear day.
