Sequoia Park Zoo
Zoo: Sequoia Park Zoo has been putting a lot of work into setting up amazing environments for their animals, the barnyard petting zoo is fun for kids, the new skywalk is a super cool experience up high in the redwoods. There are two new bears to watch, and Tia's favorite: the otters!
King Salmon Beach
(Bring your jackets!) King Salmon Beach is a cute beach that is the safest for kids and families, if you visited the Darby Family between 2006 and 2012, you'll recognize this beach as where we used to live. NOTE: The rest of our beaches are extremely dangerous, they are beautiful but stay away from the water and never turn your back on the ocean. Moonstone beach is one of the prettiest beaches around. Trinidad beach has easy access and is near the Trinidad Head hiking trail.
Headwaters Forest Reserve
The first mile is paved and flat, with small trails down to the creek. There is no cell service here.
Sue-meg State Park
Beaches, redwoods, and a re-created Yurok village are just some of the things this park has to offer.
Rohner Park
The local park, we walk the dogs here often. There is a playground and a few short hiking trails.
Old Town
We love visiting the shops in Old Town, it's a great place for window shopping, finding souvenirs and gifts, getting ice cream, and more.
