Will & Sarah met during college by pure chance. Attending university in Madison, Sarah was finally persuaded to head over to a party with her friends, at NJIT. Will, who was a commuter there, had joined a fraternity to build a social life on campus. Although they were throwing an event that night, Sarah and her friends were at a different fraternity nearby. But plans change. They decided to leave the party. Almost heading home, Sarah’s friend suggested they stop by Will’s frat house, having been friends with one of Will’s brothers. With his event over, and Will ready to leave, Sarah and her friends arrived, giving them the chance to meet, talk, and hit it off. Maybe Sarah declines the initial offer to attend the party. Maybe they go straight home after said party. Maybe Will doesn’t attend his event. Maybe he leaves before Sarah even arrives. As Fate would have it, Will and Sarah’s lives crossed, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

Talk about a surprise proposal! Sarah turned 25 while on their trip to Niagara Falls. They spent her actual birthday in Toronto, Canada. Already thinking the trip was celebration enough, Sarah went home with no inclination of what was to come. The following Saturday, Sarah made plans to be with her best friend, and now maid of honor. This was the first of a few sneaky surprises Will had in store. Brunch with the maid of honor turned into Brunch with 3 of Sarah’s friends. One of which, Will flew all the way from the West Coast to join them. They spent the afternoon hanging out and catching up, all the while Will was rushing around like a mad man: decorating, setting out catering, and ushering guests into the backyard for the next surprise - a party with family and friends. Because it was so unexpected, Sarah thought it was just a birthday celebration, because turning a quarter of a century can warrant a big party. As Sarah opened her gifts in front of the guests, Will situated himself behind her, waiting for the perfect moment. He knelt down and asked that 4-worded question. Sarah was taken aback and asked to hear it again. Will repeated and she happily agreed. They spent the rest of the night celebrating with everyone.
