Question
When should I RSVP by?
Answer
We are asking for finalized RSVPs by August 15th. To add your menu selection, please go to the RSVP tab, find your name, click "edit", and select your food preferences.
Question
What time should I arrive at the ceremony?
Answer
Please arrive at 5:45 PM for the ceremony. We encourage guests to arrive at 5:45 PM to give time to get seated and enjoy the beautiful views Veritas has to offer prior to sunset. We will be starting promptly at 6 PM given the earlier sunset time in October.

Is there a dress code?
Answer
The dress code is formal cocktail attire and black tie-optional. Given fall temperatures in the mountains, long dresses and suits are encouraged. Colored attire is welcome.

Are kids welcome?
Answer
Though we'd love to see your children, we have decided to have an adults-only affair. We hope that with this notice, you will be able to make arrangements and attend our wedding

Can I bring a date?
Answer
Please join us for an adults only gathering to celebrate our marriage. Due to venue contracts and the such, we are limited in the number of guests and ask that only ones formally invited attend. We can not accommodate extra persons not listed on the invitations.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?
Answer
Absolutely! Please see our Travel tab for recommendations. We encourage guests to book air bnbs or hotel rooms as soon as possible as Charlottesville housing fills up quickly in the fall with football season and Virginia wine month.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?
Answer
Given the multitude of options from airbnbs to hotels around Afton and the Charlottesville area, we will not have a primary hotel or transportation. You may also consider scheduling an Uber in advance if you do not plan to drive the night of the wedding.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?
Answer
Yes, please! You will have this option at the time of your RSVP.
Question
Can I take photos or videos at the ceremony?
Answer
We kindly ask that you put your phones away as we will have an unplugged wedding ceremony. We want our photographer and videographer to capture the moment perfectly! Phone pictures and videos may resume at cocktail hour and at the reception.

Is there parking for the ceremony or reception?
Answer
Yes, there will be plenty of parking at the wedding venue.
Question
Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?
Answer
We invite our guests to join us for a Welcome Party at a local wine bar the evening before our wedding. We will head to Crush Pad Wines after our rehearsal from 8-10 PM. This event is informal; feel free to come/go as you please.

Do you have a wedding registry?
Answer
While your presence is enough for us on our wedding day, if you wish to contribute to our registry, we have Amazon and Pottery Barn registries as well as some items through Zola!

Will I have to go to a different location for the reception following the ceremony?
Answer
No. Our ceremony, cocktail hours, and reception will all take place at the same venue.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Answer
Our ceremony will be held outdoors and the reception will be indoors. Our ceremony will be tented in the event of rain. We encourage bringing extra sweaters or jackets as the mountains can get cool in the evenings!

Who did the art on the invitations?
Answer
We want to give a huge thank you to a lifelong Powell family friend and artist - Jan Finn-Duffy - for designing our wedding invitations.
