Roy's Island Trail Head
Roy Island is a sanctuary to us, a place to go when the world is loud and you just need to be in the woods. We spent many days hiking off-trail and soaking up the sun on this little island. Will might not say this, but Julia thinks it's where they fell in love.
Pioneer Trail
Behind the Tim Hortons, off the East River Rd., is the Pioneer Trail. Past the gazebo, up the hill to the left, and a 10-minute walk, is the spot where Will proposed to Julia. Will got Julia's engagement ring a week before she was expecting, unlike her, she didn't even know the ring had been in his pocket all day. Pretending he needed to tie his shoe, Will turned away from Julia, till he called her name and she turned around in utter shock. Gluded to his face she said yes, and the rest is history! We don't expect anyone to ever go out of their way and look for this spot, but it's part of our history and we just wanted to share.
Sinclairs Island Beach
A great place to watch the sunset. We have spent many hours on these rocks talking about what we want our lives together to be.
