I found Haley at a Eurovision watch party. We had been in proximity for a long time but, thanks to our friends, that’s where the curiosity began. After a few polite rejections, she gave this guy a shot. Both in our own periods of growth and rebirth, I was drawn to her when I least expected to find new love. From the very first date, not a day went by we were not together. She knew more about me in one week than I’ve shared in a lifetime. I fell in love with her kindness, her loyalty, her humor and wit, her beauty and grace, her spectacular intelligence. I seek and respect her opinions, her counsel, her knowledge, and her support above anyone else’s. We laugh until we cry on random week nights after our long days. She is my best friend. Everyone who is blessed to know her understands how valuable she is and how lucky I am. My only ambition is to make her proud. All that I am belongs to her now, entirely and forever. My love, my protection, my admiration, and my respect. I would be honored to profess and to celebrate my commitment to Haley before you all.

I once thought love was more like solving a problem, fitting variables together to reach a certain sum. I’ve learned that love is much more like writing a song. It comes to you out of the blue, sometimes all at once, when you’re least expecting it. That is how we fell in love, which makes sense since much of our early days were filled with songwriting and sharing music. Neither of us were looking for love, then suddenly it took root in our hearts. As they say, the rest is history. Most of you know how our two friends (Carlos, our mutual best friend, and at the time, Haley’s coworker / Will’s lifelong friend Alanna) unwittingly were trying to set us up at the same time. It’s our favorite story to tell. But for this, I‘ll keep it short. Initially, Will’s friendship offered me the grace and care when I needed it most. Before we fell in love, I saw the man that fearlessly protects and supports his friends and family, a man who made everyone belly laugh with his clever jokes, and a person who had made it his mission to conquer his dreams. Every day since our first date, I knew that the person sitting beside me was all of the above and so, so much more. They say marry your best friend and you’ll have a beautiful life together. I am the luckiest person in the world because I got to fall in love with the best person I have ever met, to trust in love when it found me, and to share a life with such a magnificent man who is truly my best friend. I can’t wait to celebrate with our friends and family, both because it is a celebration of our commitment, adoration for each other, and the beginning of a new chapter, but also to celebrate the man that is Will Bible. To know Will is to love him.
