The Portage Point Resort (Onsite)

We’re so excited to host our wedding at the beautiful Portage Point Resort—and we’d love for you to stay close to the action! The resort offers a variety of condo-style units with 1 to 3 bedrooms, full kitchens, lake views and access to the heated infinity pool and spa-like hot tub. Important Booking Info: Unlike traditional hotels, Portage Point Resort does not have a central booking system. Instead, units are individually managed and can be reserved through the Portage Point website using the link below and it will direct you to book in one of the following ways: - Via Sandi – She manages several units onsite. (These Units require 3 night minimum) - Via VRBO or Airbnb – Many of the units are listed on these platforms. We’ll share a curated list to help you find the right fit. Booking Tip: Summer weekends fill up fast, especially at Portage Point. We strongly recommend booking your stay as soon as possible to ensure availability and the best selection. Staying onsite means you’ll be just steps from the celebration—and we’d love to have you close! Each unit features 1 to 3 bedrooms, complete with cozy beds, private bathrooms, and kitchens ranging from compact to fully equipped—ideal for morning coffee or late-night snacks.

Looking for a cozy, convenient stay just minutes from the celebration? Travelers Motel offers a variety of updated rooms designed with simplicity, comfort, and functionality in mind. Options range from intimate king and queen rooms to a spacious 3-bedroom suite complete with a full kitchen, living room, washer/dryer, and a private deck with partial views of Portage Lake. Most rooms include private baths and are located on the ground level for easy access, with one ADA-compliant option available. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, or with a group, Travelers Motel provides a clean and welcoming space to rest and recharge between wedding festivities. Note: This is an offsite accommodation, and transportation to and from the wedding venue will not be provided.

Lake Express Ferry

For guests traveling from the Chicagoland area, we highly recommend the Lake Express Ferry—a relaxing and scenic way to cross Lake Michigan without battling highway traffic. Departing from Milwaukee and arriving in Muskegon, the ferry lets you skip the long drive around the lake and instead enjoy a smooth ride across it. Once you dock in Muskegon, you're less than a 2-hour drive from the beautiful shores of Portage Point. You can even bring a car! Not only is it convenient, but it’s also a memorable experience—think fresh lake breezes, panoramic views, and a chance to kick off your wedding weekend in style. Note: Be sure to check the ferry schedule and book early, especially during peak travel times!
