Due to ongoing uncertainty around the pandemic, our wedding will not take place as originally planned. We are transitioning our April 10th ceremony to an intimate event with only immediate family present. This was a heartbreaking decision, but not nearly as heartbreaking as the idea of putting all of you at risk. On a happier note, we hope that you’ll join us on April 9, 2022 at our original wedding venue to celebrate our one year anniversary! Details about this event will be shared electronically as we get closer to the date. Be well, be safe, and hug your loved ones tight. We look forward to celebrating with you in 2022!
One of our favorite activities is hiking. We love nothing more than escaping from our busy lives to enjoy a day walking in nature. On a rare October weekend when Will did not have to coach a soccer game, we decided to hike one of our favorite trails just outside Charlottesville -- Humpback Rocks. When we reached the summit, it was crowded with people, so we scoped out several spots before Will found the perfect one. He loves photography, so he set up the tripod in order to take a photo of us on this beautiful fall day. After a mini photoshoot, he got down on one knee and asked if I'd like to make this adventure last forever. Cue instant tears and lots of hugging as he presented me the engagement ring we'd designed with our mothers earlier in the summer. On our walk back to the car, Will suggested we stop at nearby Veritas Winery to celebrate with a glass of wine. I could not believe my eyes when we arrived to see both of our families and a few friends waiting with a surprise celebration. It was the perfect day!
We grew up on opposite ends of Chester, VA and officially met on the first day of Ms. Grinter's sixth grade English class. After "dating" on and off throughout middle school, we remained close thanks to a tight-knit group of friends, but it wasn't until senior year of high school that a romantic relationship sparked again. Since that fateful day in the Thomas Dale High School parking lot, we've been at each other's side for twelve years of life experiences - college at the University of Virginia, a cross-country move to Seattle, three years living in separate cities, seven weeks traveling the country in a 21-foot van, dozens of hikes, career changes, a home purchase, subsequent home renovations, and so much more. We thank everyone who has supported us during these phases of our relationship and will continue to support us as we start our life together as husband and wife. Cheers!
