Alexa swiped right on Will’s Bumble profile in March 2023. Aside from his handsome looks, what really caught her eye were his prompts and photos about skiing. Once it was a match, Alexa wasted no time messaging Will: “What’s your favorite mountain to ski?” It didn’t take long to realize a fun coincidence—Will’s family has a house in Breckenridge, and Alexa’s family has a house in Frisco (just one town over). You have to drive by Alexa's house to get to Will's. After exchanging a few messages, Will went silent. Naturally, Alexa assumed he wasn’t interested, but in reality, he was in New York celebrating his friend, Stephen’s engagement. Once he returned, Will asked Alexa out on their first date at Ranalli’s. Alexa almost canceled—she was happily lounging at home—but the date ended up lasting nearly three and a half hours until midnight. If you really know Alexa, you know this is way past when she goes to sleep. Alexa and Will went on a second date that same week and became nearly inseparable before Alexa left for a three-week family vacation to Australia. The past three years have been filled with skiing, sporting events, travel, cooking, trips to The Coffee Lab, Thursday pizza nights at Side Street Saloon, and so much more. On November 12th, Alexa thought she was heading to dinner with her family at Restoration Hardware while Will was in Tennessee for work. What she didn’t know was that his trip wasn’t as long as she believed. Sharon picked up Alexa and mentioned they were stopping by her grandparents’ bench in Lincoln Park by the lagoon since it was an unseasonably warm November evening. After Sharon commented on Alexa’s nail color, Alexa texted her friend, Kayla: “My mom just commented on my nails and is taking me to my grandparents’ bench… am I being set up right now? I can’t be—Will isn’t here.” When they arrived, Sharon told Alexa to "go find your grandparents", so Alexa walked into the dark park alone, FaceTiming Kayla because she had no idea what was happening. She turned the corner—and there was Will, standing by the benches, glowing with candlelight. After proposing, Will asked Alexa to sit down and shared a surprise: they were leaving the very next night to celebrate in London.
