Kate and Will met in high school way back in 2011, and while it may not have been “love at first sight,” the two quickly became friends and spent one of their only classes during freshman year sending each other messages on Moodle, the school’s student website. Fast forward two years and Kate was looking for someone to ask as her date to the school’s first-ever Sadie Hawkins Dance. Well luckily, Will was an eligible bachelor and the lab partner of her best friend’s boyfriend at the time, so he was the perfect person to accompany Kate to the Sadie Hawkins dance. They had an entire spring spending time with each other and a summer of not spending time with each other. Will realized that he much preferred his time with Kate to his time without Kate (a revelation that had come to Kate much earlier), so as seniors in high school, Will asked Kate to be his girlfriend after an evening of getting her caught up on Game of Thrones, their favorite show at the time. A few months later, Will would pause an episode of Game of Thrones to tell Kate that he loved her. After four years of long-distance (approx. 2 hours), lots of FaceTime calls, traveling to see each other for most weekends, college degrees, and a few bottles of wine (more than a few perhaps), Will and Kate were finally able to turn long-distance into no-distance and be with each other full-time in Atlanta. Soon after they adopted their dog, Biscuit, who has been the absolute best friend and son in the world (they’re not biased). Since then, their lives have been full of trying all the amazing food Atlanta has to offer, enjoying Will’s craft cocktails at home, and spoiling their sweet boy. After seven years of being together, Kate and Will decided they were finally ready to tie the knot.
