Travel Note
Since our wedding will take place during the busy 4th of July weekend in Chicago (in addition to the NASCAR race event in downtown), we have arranged for hotel room blocks with special discounted rates at the Palmer House and Hyatt Regency Elizabeth and Justin will be staying at the Palmer House; however, the Hyatt Regency is a short, 4-minute Uber ride to the Palmer House. Both hotels are a 20 minute ride to the Greenhouse Lofts wedding venue site but we think staying in Downtown Chicago will provide a great opportunity to experience the best of Chicago. Deadline to book is June 3, 2025
Train
Public transportation is an efficient and affordable way to get around the city for the weekend. You can pay for each ride individually or purchase a 1-, 3-, or 7-day pass. We recommend that you download the Ventra app to assist with payment and navigation.
Travel Note
While renting a vehicle for the weekend may be a great way to explore the city, please keep in mind the high costs of overnight parking. Rates at the hotels can be up to $75 a night, while street parking at attractions you may visit can charge a high hourly rate. Additionally, many roads will be closed for the NASCAR race. We highly recommend utilizing public transportation and ride share options.
Flight
American, United, and JetBlue predominately fly into O'Hare International Airport (ORD). Some Delta and Southwest flights also arrive at this airport. Upon arriving, you can utilize the CTA Blue Line train to reach the city. Credit cards are accepted to purchase fare. Follow the signs in the airport that read "CTA Trains" or "Trains to City." You can also utilize a ride share or taxi. Meet your Uber or Lyft driver on the DEPARTURES level of Terminal 2.
Flight

Follow the signs in the airport that read "CTA Trains" or "Trains to City." You can also utilize a ride share or taxi. To meet your Uber or Lyft, meet your driver downstairs on the arrivals level (near baggage claim). Exit through Door 4, cross the street, and meet your ride share driver in the center lane.

FYI, beginning May 7, 2025, U.S. travelers must be REAL ID compliant to board domestic flights and access certain federal facilities. Make sure your travel documents are up to date and compliant for your trip to Chicago.
