The Wileys

I had just finished my Disney College Program at Walt Disney World in April of 2017. Right before I left for Florida, I had moved from my hometown of Waterford down to Dearborn Heights. I was lonely, single and like every 21 year old-single girl at the time, I downloaded tinder. I was graced by Preston's profile, and a quirky greeting from him (if you are one of the lucky ones, you know the tagline). Hours and hours of texting back and forth, he wanted to meet me in person. I agreed, on one circumstance--that was if he would attend church with me at this new church I was interested in called LifeBridge church in Taylor. So on April 24th, 2017 our love story began. Preston stepped foot into the church dressed beautifully in a button up shirt; hidden was a slightly inappropriate for church five finger death bunch band tee; I got to lay my eyes on him for the first time. I being the very awkward girl I was, promised I was 21 at the time and he ID'd me as if we were at a bar. We laughed and joked around, spent the rest of our night sharing triple dippers at Chili's and endless and endless long car talks getting to know eachother. We officially began dating about a week and a half later on 5/1/2017. Slowly, I became more adventurous with the outdoors. Preston would take me fishing, riding on ATVs, showing me loads of information on hunting and taking me to the range. I fell in love with how adventurous he was and how much he could bring the shy little homebody self of me out. One thing I love about Preston is his love for music. He can pick out a good song, understand harmonies, pitch, and he can tell you in about 20 seconds if its gonna be a good song or not. I love hearing him sing. He can carry a tune, and I can't so the ying and yang really has to pull through when we both want to do karaoke. Through the last 8 years, I have grown so much with Preston. He brings me out of my shell, forces me to try new things and brings out the best in me. I love him with all my heart and all the adventures and journeys we have started and will continue. When he proposed on January 16th, 2024, it was the easiest yes I could ever say. Sharing our many dances in the office to what could be our future first dance songs, just falling deeper and deeper in love. I cannot wait to become his wife next August and show our love to all our friends and family. He brings out the best in me and I am so thankful to have him in my life.
