Flight

Zurich (ZRH) & Geneva (GVA)

Lauterbrunnen can be most easily accessed from Zurich (ZRH) or Geneva (GVA) airports. There are also several other major European airports that are within a days train ride/ car ride from Lauterbrunnen. Ex: Munich, Milan, etc

Rental Car

Zurich (ZRH) & Geneva (GVA) Airports

Renting and driving a car is easy within Switzerland and Europe (We have done this for several trips). Most major car rental companies (Hertz, Budget, Enterprise, etc.) have locations at both Zurich and Geneva airports. I have used Priceline quite often to book rental cars even while abroad.

Train

Swiss Federal Railways

The train system runs from the airports and have routes available to Lauterbrunnen. Review the train passes available as there are different options so one may be best for your trip over another (ex: Swiss Half Fare, Berner Oberland Pass, etc). There are some great resources on google and youtube that clearly describe the different pass options. There are also local discounts for those that hold train passes (ex: gondola rides, etc.)

If you plan on exploring other surrounding countries in Europe during your trip, eurail may be a good option for train travel between countries.

Passports

Current processing times for passports is ~15 weeks. It is suggested to begin the application process ASAP. If you already have a passport, please verify that it does not expire within 6 months of your travel date. If it does, you must renew before traveling abroad.

ETIAS has been pushed back to 2025, no need to apply for our wedding travels!

House Or Rental

AirBnB and VRBO

AirBNB and VRBO offer many options within Lauterbrunnen. Please note when searching, options in Wengen and Murren/Gimmelwald may show up. These towns are train and/or gondola rides from Lauterbrunnen despite being close on the map. Interlaken is a 20min drive and there are additional lodging options there.

Camping Jungfru has several options from 2 person cabins to family (6 person) cabins. Their booking doesn't open until August 2023

There are several hotels in Lauterbrunnen including Hotel Horner, Hotel Oberland, Hotel Schutzen, etc. Booking.com is a helpful tool for searching hotels, apt, etc.
