FAQs

Feel free to contact Megan or Jim with any other questions you have!
Question

What are the rules at the venue?

Answer

*DRIVING: Please be respectful of our neighbors and drive the recommended 35 mph or slower on the gravel roads. We ask you to drive 15 mph on our driveway for safety reasons and to keep the dust down. *SMOKING: There will be no smoking of any kind in the building. Smoking is only allowed in the smoking area at the base of the outdoor stairs where there is a receptacle for use. Do not toss cigarette butts on the ground. *PETS: No Pets; however service dogs are allowed if leashed. *SAFETY: There are various hazards such as rock walls, a pond and cliff edges that will be marked to warn of danger or death. All children must be in the company of an adult when outside at all times for safety reasons. It is the parent or guardians responsibility to ensure the safety of the children at the Venue not the Venue Owner. *ROCKS: Stay off the rocks at all locations! They are not guaranteed stable. Do not stand or lean on the rocks for pictures or visibility purposes. Stay back from cliff edges--injury or death could occur.

Question

Is the event inside or outside?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will both be held indoors. The barn is heated and should be comfortable even if the weather outside is cold. Unless the day turns out to be super warm--then we may hold the ceremony outside and have the reception inside, but that is unlikely and we will let you know if that happens!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Not necessarily. Semi-formal is what we'll call it, but jeans and a button down for the guys will do just fine. Dressier attire also works! Most of the ladies will be in their Sunday-best dress. The event will be held inside, but there will be a short time of standing on the covered patios while the venue is being flipped between the ceremony and reception. Idaho can be chilly in the winter, but November is typically pretty mild.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

For many of you we already invited your date (or your spouse) along with yourself, so please check for their name when you rsvp. If their name isn't there, still feel free to bring them--just let Megan or Jim know so they can correctly plan for the number of people.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

You are definitely welcome to bring your children and we are excited to celebrate with the whole family!

Question

Will there be alcohol served?

Answer

There will not be an open bar, but there will be wine! We see marriage as a great gift from God and a good reason to feast and celebrate.

Question

Where can I stay if I'm traveling from out of town?

Answer

There are 10 dry camping spots for campers at the venue Friday noon to Sunday noon for a $50 fee to the venue. Please contact Megan with questions about that. There are airbnb options in surrounding small towns, as well as hotel rooms in larger towns a little further out.
