Whittney likes to jokingly say she and Lyle met the old fashioned way and... swiped RIGHT into love in 2015. She was living in Lawrence at the time and Lyle was living in Lee's Summit. Date night was about an hour long commute for almost a full year until she moved closer. Who would have thought a Kansas Jayhawk and a Missouri Tiger could fall in love? Their house may forever be divided, but their hearts are forever united. XO
When Lyle and Whittney moved into their house together during the fall of 2018, there was a note left behind from the previous owner written on cardboard, "This house was the perfect place to start our journey together as a growing family, we wish you all the happiness as you begin yours." With the help of their families, L+W began painting, decorating, and making the home theirs. One of their favorite places to be is the patio deck. On July 24th, 2019 Lyle popped the question on that same patio deck where they had sat together many times before and planned their dreams. It was in the MIDDLE OF THE DAY on a Wednesday! So, in true Lyle Burditt fashion, he completely surprised Whittney that day. For lunch they made lobster & steak together.... because when you get engaged in the middle of the day, you get lobster for lunch!!
