Explore Seattle!

Let's be honest- this wedding is just a good excuse to come explore the amazingness that is Seattle and Washington State. There is endless hiking and other recreational activities in and around Seattle! Here are some of our favorite activities accessible from the city. Let us know how we can help plan your trip!
Hiking!

Hiking!

wta.org (link below) has a comprehensive list/map of all hikes in Washington and recent trip reports. Definitely check the trail conditions before you choose a hike since many higher elevation hikes will still have significant snow in late June. Here are some of our favorites: Snow Lake (easy) Bandera Mountain (medium) McClellan Butte (hard) Granite Mountain (hard) Mt. Dickerman (hard) Lake Serene (medium) Naches Peak Loop (easy) Burroughs Mountain Trail (easy) Panorama Point (medium)

Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market

The famous Seattle public market in the heart of downtown. Great for fish slinging, fresh flowers, and local crafts.

Seattle Center

Seattle Center

Known for the Space Needle, Seattle Center has a lot of other attractions including the Museum of Pop Culture, Chihuly Garden and Glass, and the Pacific Science Center (kids science museum).

International District

International District

Incredible Asian food, markets, stores. Bubble tea and dumplings are top notch.

Gas Works Park

Gas Works Park

Great park on Lake Union with interesting industrial sculptures and history. The best view of downtown Seattle, float planes, and house boats.

Seattle Ferry to Vashon or Bainbridge Island

Seattle Ferry to Vashon or Bainbridge Island

There is no better way to see Seattle, the Sound and the mountains than from a ferry. Make a day trip to Vashon or Bainbridge Island for bike riding and exploring. The wait for the ferry can be very long so plan ahead.

Washington Park Arboretum

Washington Park Arboretum

Partially owned by UW, the Arb has great public walking trails in and around incredible botanical gardens. Adjacent to Seattle Japanese Garden (also awesome, small admission fee).

Green Lake

Green Lake

2.8 mile biking/walking/running loop around lake in North Seattle. You will soon understand why they say Seattle has more dogs than kids...

Ballard Locks

Ballard Locks

Working locks that move boats between Lake Union and Puget Sound. Incredible to see in action.

Discovery Park

Discovery Park

Large park just outside the city with many hiking/walking trails. Located on Puget Sound with fantastic views of Olympic Mountains, Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Baker on a good day :).

For all the days along the way
