We met briefly through mutual friends while in our senior year of college at CWU. I instantly had a crush on him, but thought he was "way too cool" to ever notice me. I was proven wrong that following summer of 2015 when he reached out & requested we get together for coffee. That first "date" was easily the most comfortable I have ever felt with someone & was in no rush to let the night end. Coffee turned into a casual stroll through his old neighborhood, then onto stargazing at the notorious scenic outlook in Yakima, & finished with a phone call as he drove back home. #dreamdate

Following a family wedding in Coeur d'Lane on May 28th, Nick insisted we stay an extra night in Spokane, just because. Since my birthday was just a few days later, he had the perfect cover for all of his sneakiness (ring shopping) in the weeks leading up. Prior to leaving for the wedding, he had gifted me a Polaroid camera as an early birthday gift to take with us on the trip. The morning after the wedding, Nick was adament we leave extra early to get over to our hotel in Spokane. He had shared that there was a park right across the way from where were staying that we could take a walk through to get the day started. So, after dropping our things at the hotel, we headed to this park, with my new camera in tow. Little did I know that the ring was burning a hole in Nick's pocket this whole time. While we walked through the park, taking pictures along the way, Nick asked me to turn away from him so he could get a shot of me looking out at the river. Still at this point I am clueless, so there I am taking in the beautiful river scene and the poor thing is on his knee for at least a few solid minutes before he kindly clears his throat & I turn around. Instead of him getting back up off his knee, I instinctively knelt down to his level & said YES!
