Things To Do

Downtown Stuart / River Walk

Downtown Stuart / River Walk

SW St. Lucie Ave, Stuart, FL 34994

Downtown Stuart is a couple long blocks of interesting little shops and restaurants located right next to what the locals call “Riverwalk.” The boardwalk is on the St. Lucie River which provides beautiful views at sunset of the Roosevelt Bridge. There is also a park on the strip for children as well as restaurants on the water. Parking is free and on weekends you may find a free concert right on the waterfront.

The House of Refuge

The House of Refuge

301 SE Macarthur Blvd, Stuart, FL 34996

If you’re in the mood for a beautiful sunrise or sunset, Whitney and Aaron highly recommend the House of Refuge! This is where they took their engagement photos and is one of Florida’s hidden secrets. This is the only surviving refuge of the 10 that were originally on Florida’s coastline. The historical house is open on weekdays if you are in town and want to learn more about the history.

Florida Oceanic Society’s Coastal Center

Florida Oceanic Society’s Coastal Center

890 NE Ocean Blvd, Stuart, FL 34996

If you’re not from Florida or have kids who enjoy hands on experiences with nature this may be worth checking out. They have a stingray feeding program, large sea turtles, many other fish/sharks, short nature trail, and the children’s interactive play area.

Stand Up Paddle Boarding/Kayaking

Stand Up Paddle Boarding/Kayaking

Manatee pocket is a perfect all-around paddling area. There are winding mangrove trails that connect, plenty of waterfront restaurants to take a quick break and grab a bite to eat, and you can usually find a family of manatees or a pod of dolphins to hang with for a bit. Flying Fish Paddle Sports has a great little dock to launch from and are fully loaded with any supplies you might need.

Deep Sea Fishing

Deep Sea Fishing

The Lady Stuart is a 65-foot boat, located just minutes from the St. Lucie Inlet. Trips are available daily year-round with discounts for seniors & kids. Trips include FREE fishing gear, tackle, bait, and license. Licensed Smaller/Private Charters are not hard to find either! If you are looking for a charter boat and the best offshore fishing on the southeast Coast of Florida then you’re in the right place! After all, it’s not called the “Sailfish Capital of the World” for nothing.

Beaches

Beaches

You can’t go wrong there are plenty of beaches to choose from Stuart to Jensen Beach and all the smaller public access spots in between. There is not charge for parking at any of the public access locations. Unless you are on a resort property best to bring your own chairs/umbrellas if you have them.
