Carly & Chris first noticed each other during a code blue at work! Chris thought, "Who is that cutie?" Carly admired how Chris walked in, cracking jokes, which lightened the tension in the room. After that day, they both found excuses to talk to each other and ask questions they already knew the answer to. Chris made a point to remember small things about Carly and would bring them up in conversation. Carly noticed his interest. One day, Carly bought a bag of Peanut M&M's and left them at the nurse's station, only to discover they had mysteriously vanished. She marched around the unit, playfully interrogating everyone with a dramatic, "Who stole my M&Ms?" Chris couldn't help but laugh at her mock outrage and chimed in, "Who's hurting that bad to steal candy?" The two of them launched into a lively roast of the candy thief, their laughter bouncing off the walls in a natural, easy banter. To make amends, Chris offered Carly a free box of Girl Scout cookies. Carly instantly knew Chris was interested, but instead of confessing she was gluten-free and couldn't eat the cookies, she accepted them with a smile and walked away. On Carly's last day working with Chris, she decided to talk to him more than she usually did. She didn't want this to be the last time they saw each other, but wasn't sure how to go about it. Carly sighed in relief that this wasn't going to be her last time seeing Chris. She quickly wrote down her number on a piece of paper and handed it to him. Chris's face looked shocked, and then Carly became shocked that he was. Later, they discussed how they both felt fortunate in that moment. Chris called Carly that very night, and together they set their first date for three days later. Lunch was at a hotel restaurant, handpicked by Chris, the self-proclaimed foodie with a knack for finding the best bites. Afterwards, they headed to the gun range for a little adventure. Carly was charmed by Chris's genuine manners and could tell that he had been well-raised. At one point, they found themselves laughing and joking like lifelong friends, both struck by how natural and effortless it felt to be together.
