Maid of Honor
Upon returning to Liberty in the fall of 2014, Elizabeth was told by a friend that she needed to meet this freshman girl from Canada. By happenstance, Chelsea and Elizabeth met in the hallway of M-21-1 later that week and an instant bond was formed. Chelsea became Elizabeth's prayer group leader and they began having weekly tea parties to get to know each other. This turned into watching Kid Nation together every week, which turned into studying together, which turned into spending Saturdays at the library together, which turned into a deep, special friendship. Over the years, Chelsea and Elizabeth have walked through hardships and abundant blessings together. Chelsea became Matt's bro when she became the person to first get Elizabeth to consider Matt as "a potential."
Best Man
Matt met Zac in eighth grade where they shared a theater class together. During this time, Zac invited Matt to his small group through church for over a year. Eventually, Matt accepted this invitation and began to attend small group, and that changed Matt’s life. Zac was instrumental in helping Matt truly know the Lord. Zac and Matt have been friends since the beginning and roommates in college and have shared so much together. These things experienced together include everything from late night Bojangles runs to a road trip to Colorado and back. Zac has supported and been there for Matt in so many ways throughout his life, and to count them all or their worth would be both impossible and incalculable.
Assistant to the Maid of Honor
Bridget is Elizabeth's oldest friend. They met on September 6th, 2005 on the first day of 5th grade. Elizabeth liked Bridget because she was studious and enjoyed similar books, and she was the only other 5th grader who observed the one-minute swing set sharing rule at recess. After being sent to different schools in 7th grade, Bridget and Elizabeth remained friends, going to the movies and baking things at Bridget's house. They stayed in touch all throughout high school after Elizabeth moved away in 2010. Bridget sends Elizabeth a box of purple highlighters on her birthday every year and remains one of her dearest and closest friends. She is also credited with introducing Elizabeth to "The Waltons" and pony language.
Assistant to the Best Man
Matt also met Reed in high school, and in college they became roommates and close friends. As they moved in to become roommates, they raced to determine who would earn the right to the nicer room in the new house, which Reed won with good grace. They have discussed all things film and movie related, played quite a bit of Rocket League, and talked so much about God and His impact on their lives. Reed has been a constant friend throughout so much of what life has offered. Matt also had the distinct honor of being Reed’s assistant to the best man in his wedding.
Bridesmaid
Elizabeth met Kendra during the first week of her sophomore year when she popped her head into the room to meet her new freshman hallmates. Upon discovering that Kendra was a quiet country girl from Ohio and a violin performance major, Elizabeth presumed they would never become friends because Kendra was so normal and quiet. By the end of the semester, Kendra was very weird, and not quiet. Elizabeth and Kendra have grown closer over the years in sharing their hearts with one another and over-indulging in Taco Bell. Kendra is Elizabeth's official Snapchat videography companion and violin duet buddy. She also loves pickles more than anyone else Elizabeth has ever met.
Groomsman
When Matt first met Carlos, he was quite surprised by this tall person who now also led small group in high school. Matt and Carlos quickly became friends, and later in college, Matt actually came to live with Carlos in his home. During this time, they fondly shared exercising, working, eating junk food, and encouraging each other to seek God. Matt and Carlos would also adventure together and would support each other in the complexities of life. Carlos has always been a source of safety, friendship, the best kind of bad jokes, and he has enriched Matt’s life to no end.
Bridesmaid
Bethany was the first person Elizabeth ever threatened a guy with a spork for. She's Elizabeth's primary source of cat memes and snarky humor. They met in the fall of 2010 in Bethany, Kendra, and Chelsea's dorm room. Bethany and Elizabeth became friends through eating food on the floor with Kendra in their room, playing tag in the dark, and watching "Once Upon a Time" and Disney movies together. Elizabeth and Bethany share a love for cats, music, and scathing sarcasm.
Bridesmaid
Elizabeth met Hannah on freshman move-in day when they moved into M-21-3-201 together. Fluffy, as Elizabeth calls her, is Elizabeth's most bubbly friend, and is incapable of making any ugly faces. The uglier she tries to get, the cuter she becomes. The two roommates grew closer in friendship over the course of their freshman year, walking in faith together and becoming prayer warrior in one another's lives. Fluffy became the only person ever to make Elizabeth cry on Christmas, when she told her over Facetime that she would not be returning for the second half of junior year at Liberty. Since then, they have remained close friends, with Fluffy teaching Elizabeth how to be less weird and Elizabeth making Fluffy weirder. Elizabeth was a bridesmaid in Fluffy's wedding.
Bridesmaid
Elizabeth got home from school on April 8th, 2013 to find an e-mail from Amanda, introducing herself to her new freshman year roommates. The e-mail contained a plethora of exclamation points, much like Amanda's personality. Upon discovering that Amanda was a dancer, hopeless romantic, aspiring wedding-planner, and flaming extrovert, Elizabeth was sure they would get along well enough but not become great friends (boy was she wrong!). Elizabeth and Amanda ended up living together for three years, sharing in life's highs and lows, hanging out in their closet, and obsessing over Disney, Gilmore Girls, Once Upon a Time, and Cookout milkshakes. Amanda's parents became Elizabeth's adopted LU parents and Elizabeth was the maid of honor in Amanda's wedding. They remain best friends to this day!
Musicians
Elizabeth and Erin met in May of 2015 in London, England, when they were assigned to room together for a study-abroad trip through Liberty. They formed an instant bond in their mutual love for Disney and the culinary arts, and their shared experiences of growing up in military families. When Erin met her future husband, Jordan, Elizabeth quickly came to appreciate him for his mastery of dad jokes and superb pun-making abilities. It was when Elizabeth met Matt, years later, that she knew he and Jordan were meant to form a bromance. She later discovered Matt was also meant to be her future husband. Erin and Jordan have become dear friends to both Matt and Elizabeth. They thoroughly enjoy sharing food together, watching Disney movies, playing games, and appreciating the silly things in life.
