Question

What time must we leave Drumtochty Castle?

Answer

Guests staying on the estate must check out by 12:00pm on Monday, September 19, 2022.

Question

If we plan to stay on the estate, are we required to book all 3 nights?

Answer

No. You can book any or all of the nights available. Please inform us as early as possible if you do not intend on staying all 3 nights as payments will need to be made upfront.

Question

Is there a shuttle to the castle?

Answer

No, but I believe we have everyone covered with booked transportation to this point. If you still need assistance with any transportation please contact me asap.

Question

Are toiletries provided at Drumtochty?

Answer

Yes, basic toiletries, hairdryers, towels and bedding are provided for those staying on the estate. If you require something specific please plan to bring it with you, or reach out to me directly and I will see what can be arranged. Please DO NOT bring American hairdryers and straighteners as the voltage is different and will cause a power outage.

Question

Are we able to bring food and drink to Drumtochty Castle?

Answer

Yes, each carriage house, stable apartment and wing of the castle will have a kitchen. You are welcome to bring your own food and drink for snacking. There is a grocery store called Fettery Shoppe in Laurencekirk, 13 minutes from the castle as well as two grocery store options in Stonehaven if you would like to purchase some items.

Question

What meals are provided for guests?

Answer

Breakfast food will be provided in every wing and stable apartment kitchen to be self prepared to your liking. Those staying in the main castle will have breakfast prepared for them in the main kitchen. Dinners will be provided on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. To Go style breakfast will be provided to everyone on Monday morning prior to depature.

Question

What is the average temperature in Scotland during the Fall?

Answer

In the Fall, Scotland is likely to experience temperatures ranging from a low of 46 to a high of 60 degrees from September to November.

Question

What is the dress code for the weekend?

Answer

The welcome dinner will be business casual. We ask for formal attire for the wedding, black tie not required. Kilts are being rented by a majority of the men and will be on site for trying on Friday evening. The rest of the weekend is casual. If you are planning certain outings, be sure to pack comfortable shoes and a jacket! If you are one of our kayakers, please be sure to wear water resistant clothes and possibly a hat and gloves. The North Sea can get Cold! I would also suggest a change of clothes for afterwards.

Question

Are voltage converters provided by the castle?

Answer

No. Please bring voltage converters/plug adapters with you. Amazon has multiple options. Please note, not all adapters for charging phones will work for hair appliances. You will need to search specifically for converters meant for hair appliances. Hairdryers are provided in the castle so do not bring one with you. Contact me if you would like me to send amazon links to some recommended adapters.

Question

Is smoking permitted in the castle?

Answer

No. Drumtochty Castle is a non-smoking venue. If traces of smoke are found in your room, a deep cleaning fee of $350 will be assessed directly to you.

Question

Are laundry facilities available on site?

Answer

Yes, there is a separate laundry building on site with 2 washers and 2 dryers available for use if necessary.

Question

Is photography allowed?

Answer

Yes, sort of. You are welcome to take photos. We would just ask for NO pictures DURING the ceremony (before and after are ok). We want to see your faces in our professional photos, not your phones.

For all the days along the way
