CDMX is a bright a vibrant city, and we encourage clothing that reflects the same! For the Welcome Party, we're encouraging colorful cocktail attire. For the wedding and reception, the attire is black-tie optional. The ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outside and the reception will be indoors.
We love your little ones, but this will be an adult-only weekend.
Si! However, it's the most populous city in North America so you'll need to exercise the same caution you would in any other major city. Like any foreign travel, be mindful of your surroundings and look after your belongings. Crime rates in touristy areas are low, and in the neighborhoods we recommend.
Checking into your phone plans before traveling to Mexico City is a good idea. There are many places with internet, but you will most likely want to have it available on your cell phone while navigating the city.
NO! Don't drink the tap water under any circumstances. Some of us (Erin) have learned this the hard way. Keep these five best practices in mind throughout your visit to Mexico: 1. Use purified water to brush your teeth. Even a tiny drop of contaminated water can contain enough germs to send you to el baño instead of la boda. 2. Avoid ice cubes unless you are absolutely confident of the water source it is from. Ask your waiter if the ice is made from filtered water. 3. Be mindful when consuming fresh fruits, veggies and salads (although these are usually safe at most restaurants and hotels). 4. Drinking mixed juices should also be avoided. 5. We recommend coming prepared with Imodium and/or Pepto-Bismol just in case. You can also ask your doctor to prescribe an antibiotic such as ciprofloxacin (Cipro), to bring in the chance that you get sick. You can also find Cipro without a prescription in Mexico at the local farmacia.
