Oahu has only one main airport to fly into. Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) services all of the island of Oahu. To make travel arrangements, make sure you select HNL as your travel destination. The wedding venue will be held on the North Shore which is about a 45 minute drive away. *Money-saving secret: For those able to, consider signing up for the Hawaiian Airlines credit card. You get (1) 50% off companion ticket (which saves you around $350 on a ticket) as well as your first check-in bag free, every time you fly. There's also a current promo. Airbnb is a great way to find nice, affordable housing. We highly recommend that you use the wedding buddy-system and coordinate to get a bigger beach house and split to save on costs. If searching on AIRBNB.com, you will want to look for houses that are generally in the Haleiwa area. Some typically will specify the beach that they are located near.; Haleiwa, Chun's, Rocky Point, Waimea Bay, Pupukea, and Sunset Beach are all within 5 miles of eachother and is a good location to stay in. If you see places near Kahuku or Laie, then prepare for a longer car ride to get to the wedding venue; but still a beautiful area to stay. (Note: Laie is a Mormon town, therefore the stores in this side do not sell alcohol, as it is a "dry town"). *Be sure to get a house with air conditioning! August is summer time in Hawaii so it's typically very hot. Although we get on-and-off showers throughout the day, the temperatures normally stay very warm.

Turtle Bay Resort

This is the only hotel on the North Shore and the closest to our ceremony & reception site. It's a great hotel with beautiful views, pools with slides, hot tub, surfboard rentals, surf lessons, a perfect little surf beach, a kid friendly beach, and offers plenty of spots to eat and places to explore nearby. Turtle Bay Resort even offers rental car services via Enterprise. If you're looking to rent a car for just a day or so, this is a great option. Please tell us ahead of time, if you plan to stay at this resort. We can get a limited amount of rooms at discounted prices, using our friend's employee discount. Last day to book at this discounted rate is April 1. Discounted rooms are on a first come, first served basis.

Laie is a beautiful area with many gorgeous beaches and sites to see as well. If you decide to stay here, It is about a 30 minute drive to the ceremony and reception venue. (Note: Laie is a Mormon town, therefore the stores in this side do not sell alcohol, as it is a "dry town").

Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club

Marriott's Ko Olina Beach Club is an amazing place to stay. It is located in Ko Olina Resort, where Evan has worked for the past 8 years and is about 10 minutes from our house. It is fronting one of the four lagoons located in Ko Olina. They are perfect swimming spots for kids and the family. The hotel is very kid friendly with lots of fun slides, a lazy river, hot tubs, as well as great food and bars for the adults. (Longboards is our favorite spot to get a drink and watch the sunset). And we'd like to emphasize that Ko Olina has the ABSOLUTE BEST SUNSETS on the island. (Fun fact, this is where Evan proposed to Amber; Lanikuhonua. It is located right at the front of the resort on the right hand side after you enter Ko Olina resort). However, be prepared if you plan to stay here during the wedding day, it is about an hour drive to the ceremony and reception venue. But we highly recommend this place if you plan to stay for a few days before or after the wedding.

Rental Cars

Rental cars are available at the airport. We highly recommend that you rent a car if you intend to stay longer than a couple nights. The wedding is approximately 45 minutes from the airport and is quite the fare if you're thinking of grabbing an Uber or cab. We also recommend a car so that you can sightsee while you're visiting. Pairing up will definitely help. Six rental car companies, Advantage, Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National are located on airport. Four others provide off-airport car rentals. Registration counters are located in the Baggage Claim area. On-airport-rental-car offices are located on the ground level opposite Baggage Claim G. Car rental shuttles stop in designated areas along the center median on the ground level outside of baggage claim areas.
