Flight

Minneapolis-Saint Paul Airport (MSP)

This is the only viable option for airports. It's a decently large airport so give yourself time. A reminder too that it will be Memorial weekend which is a very high travel time in the US. Give yourself extra time when possible for layovers and such. MSP is a Delta hub so if you have Delta points you can score! Use GOOGLE FLIGHTS to find a good flight: https://www.google.com/travel/flights FOR OUR DOMESTIC GUESTS: - Be sure to buy your flights one month in advance MINIMUM. FOR OUR INTERNATIONAL GUESTS: - Cheap tickets should be available through Christmas. Beware: Price spikes should happen come MARCH 2025. TRANSPORTATION to/from: - Uber/Lyft are taxi apps that you can use for a decent price. Availability is plenty within Minneapolis and Saint Paul, but check the prices beforehand on the app. LOUNGES: - There is a Delta lounge. - There is a Veterans lounge that active military and veterans can use, would highly recommend its SUPER comfy and they make you a free sandwich: https://shorturl.at/jJl9x - There is a LEGO vending machine which is fun if you are delayed. Bring out your inner child.

General Hotel Advice

If you are hoping for a more nature-immersed hotel experience, try an Airbnb or Vrbo (google their websites) on a lakeside. They're often affordable, and as long as its by a lake outside of the Twin Cities, it'll be very nice. Since the wedding it outside of Minneapolis, we recommend a hotel in the western suburbs, which tend to be very nice areas. Towns such as Edina, Minnetonka, St Louis Park, Golden Valley, and Wayzata are very affluent. We HIGHLY recommend staying TO THE WEST of Minneapolis in these western suburbs, otherwise traffic will make your travel times very unpleasant. Traffic between Minneapolis and St Paul on weekday evenings is far from holy. We have kept all wedding events to the west of the Twin Cities (aka Minneapolis and Saint Paul) for everyones sanity. We do not recommend staying in central Minneapolis, North Minneapolis, Northwest Minneapolis, North Saint Paul, or Midtown, these areas didnt really recover after 2020 and really arent nice. There isnt anything "sketchy" as far as towns to not stay in in the countryside, middle America is a very constant place and all of rural Minnesota is about the same chillness.

Restaraunts

Our favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities area, sorted by location and by fanciness: Minneapolis: - Nighthawks ($$ normal price) - Khaluna ($$$ very nice, Laotian American fusion) - matt’s bar ($$ the home of the juicy lucy burger, 80s dive bar themed, Obama visited here funny enough) - Pizzeria Lola ($$ very good, unique stone baked pizza, owned by the same chef as Young Joni which was featured on Netflix and very popular, but Lola is much easier to get a reservation at) - EAT STREET!! ($ lots of good restaurants along several blocks just south of downtown Minneapolis, famous for a variety of cuisines and not too expensive. Plus Nick and Megan used to live here) St. Louis Park/Golden Valley: - Lat 14 Asian Eatery ($$$ very nice dinner) - The Block ($$ bar style but very good food, can't go wrong) - 6Smith ($$$ very good food and right on Lake Minnetonka) Eden Prairie: - Asia Mall ($$ about as authentic Asian food restaurants and stores as you can get in the Midwest, Nick approved) Saint Paul: - The Nook ($$ top quality burgers, with bowling!) - Moscow on the Hill ($$$ fun and very nice Russian inspired food, $8 mixed vodka is real great) - Revival ($$ hipster southern food) - blue door pub ($$, midwestern bar food) - lucky 13 pub ($$, burger place sports bar) Maplewood: - White Bear Meadery ($$ tad expensive) - Culvers ($ classic Midwest fast food) Stillwater Area: - St Croix Chocolate Co. ($$$ top freakin tier chocolate) - Rustic Roots Winery ($$ normal price, wonderful countryside) - Culvers ($ classic Midwest fast food) - the freight house ($$, midwestern food)

Memorial Day Weekend

For our non-Americans, and reminder for the Americans, please note our wedding weekend is Memorial Day weekend, where this is very high travel on airlines. Please be sure to book your flights internationally at MINIMUM 3 months in advance and for domestic MINIMUM 1 month in advance. The more advance the better, and this applies to hotels as well. Monday May 26th is the Memorial Day holiday, so be prepared that most businesses will be closed that day.
