Scorpion Hunting with a Black Light

If you’re up for a little desert adventure, grab a UV (black) light after sunset and head outside—you’ll be surprised at what you find! Under UV light, scorpions glow a bright neon green, making them easy to spot against the ground and rocks. It’s a safe and fascinating way to see a side of the desert you don’t usually notice. Just wear closed-toe shoes, keep a little distance, and enjoy the glowing critters from afar.

Mollies Nipple

Mollies Nipple stands alone amidst the cliffs, mesas, and canyons. As you begin your journey, the trail passes between two large boulders. Some sections of the slope contain loose rock, requiring careful footing. As you ascend, the trail rewards you with 360-degree views of Kitchen Canyon and the surrounding landscape. This is a steep incline hike, so wear good shoes and be ready for a workout.
