We met online in June and talked for a month before we were both available to have our first date! Our first date was at Pearl's restaurant in West Ashley, SC. When we saw one another, our embrace was magical. We talked for hours, enjoyed great food, and knew that we had something special.
Kelly had won a photoshoot which was scheduled for later in the week. She had decided they should both try on some clothes a few nights before the shoot to make sure they each knew what they wanted to wear. While they each tried on something formal, Matt said he needed to get a blazer from the other room. He stepped away quickly and returned in a suit and tie as Kelly checked the fit of her long, floral dress in the bedroom mirror. Matt's tone was a little serious than normal as he spoke about the challenges and uncertainty the couple had faced recently. He said that he wasn't worried because they had each other and that fact made him feel secure. Kelly agreed in a brief manner, unaware of the purpose of the conversation. Matt said, "Before you get involved with another project, I need to ask you an important question." Kelly said, "Okay, sure" beginning to catch onto the fact that there was something different about Matt's tone. Matt retrieved a jewelry box from his blazer pocket, which he had tucked away there earlier when he stepped away. He asked Kelly to marry him as he knelt down on one knee and opened the box to reveal a simple diamond ring. Kelly didn't hesitate to say yes and was in such a hurry to pull Matt up to his feet for a long hug, that she didn't even take a second glance at the ring until after she had a moment to talk about her feelings for Matt.
