Travel Note
There are a few different options when it comes to getting to Nantucket. The most popular is taking the ferry. You can book through Hy-Line Cruises or the Steamship Authority. Both ferries depart out of Hyannis, MA. We recommend the Hy-Line fast ferry (takes approx. 1 hour from Hyannis, MA). Steamship Authority has a fast ferry and a slow ferry. You can book online or call their customer service number. **Hy-line has commuter book passes which consist of 10 one way tickets, they never expire and are cheaper than buying a one time round trip ticket. This would be a great option for larger groups or families. Call their customer service number to purchase! (800-492-8082) If you are planning on bringing your own car, the slow ferry with The Steamship Authority is your only option (2ish hour ferry ride) NOTE: if you plan on bringing your car, bookings open JAN ***, 2026. Reservations will sell out in a day. Mark this day on your calendar if you plan on bringing your car. Keep checking back for an update on the exact date that reservations go live. **Standby space is always available and an option if you miss the deadline. You can also fly into the Nantucket Memorial Airport (ACK). Fog is always a concern as some flights may become delayed or cancelled so please allow extra time.
