Brian and Shannon met for the first time on July 8th, 2021. Brian works as a Paramedic, and Shannon was working in the emergency department as a nurse at the time. On this night Shannon happened to be the charge nurse on duty. The emergency department was very chaotic. Brian had spoken with Shannon about the patient that he brought in. However due to how busy it was, there were no rooms available Shannon told Brian she would get him one as soon as she could. While Brian was waiting for a room to become available and talking with other paramedics, he continued to glance back at Shannon. He noticed that Shannon appeared upset and asked if she needed anything. Shannon was taken back at first, but then touched that Brian had taken the time to see what he could do to help, when she was supposed to be helping him. Shannon asked if Brian would get her a cup of ice water as she has not been able to get a drink in some time. Brian brought her a drink she smiled at him with appreciation The next day Brian checked in with Shannon to see how the rest of her night went at work, and they continued to talk from there. Brian asked Shannon out about a week later. Their first date was a traditional dinner and a movie; Avicoli’s in Fayetteville and Black Widow. From that night they continued talking and seeing each other, eventually leading to where we are today. Brian still brings coffee to Shannon when she is working just so they can spend a few minutes together during their busy workdays.
