Mother of the Bride
Jodi is not only the mother of the bride but also Samantha's closest friend and steadfast supporter. Throughout Sam’s life, Jodi has been a constant presence, helping her through various moves from Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Texas, Boston, New York City, and now Stamford, while providing unwavering emotional support. Jodi's deep and enduring love has played a crucial role in shaping Sam into the person she is today, someone who loves Wes with equal depth and sincerity. Sam’s dedication and perseverance reflect the values Jodi has instilled in her, along with their uncanny similar laugh and facial expressions. Additionally, Jodi and Wes have developed a special bond over their shared love of music, especially the classic sounds of CCR, adding another meaningful layer to their relationship.
Mother of the Groom
Sharon met Wes on day 1, and had the pleasure of raising the perfect child which always sat still in church, never talked back, never got into any trouble, and definitely never got busted by the state troopers doing donuts in the high school parking lot. She has always been Wes’s foundation throughout every endeavor in life, varying from car purchases, grad school decisions, and even engagement rings. She is undoubtedly where Wes developed his wittiness and southern sass, and he certainly wouldn’t be where he is today without her guiding hand, lightheartedness and ability to find good in the worst of situations. P.S. Don’t bother bringing her wine, she only drinks whiskey.
Father of the Bride
Dave filled Grace and Samantha’s childhood Saturday mornings with OJ and his famous pancakes. Dave’s love for the outdoors has deeply influenced their lives. An avid enthusiast of nature and adventure, Dave's passion often led him on exciting explorations where, more often than not, Sam was the only one brave enough to join him. This shared adventurous spirit has left a lasting impact on Sam, instilling in her a love for outdoors and working out. Dave’s influence also shines through in his sense of humor, which is deeply rooted in Sam and her relationship with Wes.
Father of the Groom
Wes’s attraction to automobiles, loud engines and ability to sing every CCR song word for word stems from his childhood days of going to work with David. He undoubtedly developed his love for the outdoors, quick humor and humble demeanor from David. He may or may have not put a gun, axe and chainsaw into Wes’s hands too early in life, but it developed his attitude that one is capable of doing anything, regardless of what the world says. David always pushed Wes growing up, to work harder, be stronger, faster and smarter. Wes didn’t get a break from the early mornings, long days, and demand for perfection until he finally gave up and joined the Marine Corps.
Matron of Honor
Samantha’s younger sister, Grace, is not just family but her other half. A devoted mother to Ozzy, who made Sam and now Wes an aunt and uncle, Grace and Sam have been inseparable since childhood. Despite their stark differences in personality and hair color, their bond is unbreakable. In fact, Grace and Sam shared a bed despite having bunk beds and eventually separate rooms most of their childhood. Remarkably, Grace often plays the role of a big sister to Sam, offering guidance and support. Wes was the first boyfriend of Sam that Grace genuinely liked and didn’t tease. Fun fact: Wes even officiated Grace and Oscar’s wedding, highlighting the deep connection they all share.
Best Man
Wes’s youngest and only “twin-brother”, Austin has been his lifelong supporter and biggest cheerleader from little league baseball, to football, to the Marine Corps. He has always been Wes’s motivator for anything he has taken on throughout life. Whatever Wes was trying to achieve, Austin always kept Wes grounded to what truly matters in life, through his unquestioning love, no-fear attitude, and endless fist-bumps for all. Wes would not be where he is today without the unmatchable influence that his “twin-brother” has had on his life. Bet for the wedding: Austin currently posses Over/Under 10 WWE Heavyweight Championship Belts.
Maid of Honor
Vivian and Sam have been friends since they were 12, though they can’t quite pinpoint the exact moment their iconic duo began in 5th grade. Vivian has been there for Sam through everything: she joined her on a cross-country move to Austin, Texas, became an honorary Bulldog at Bryant due to her frequent weekend visits, and even lived with Sam in Boston for 18 months while Sam and Wes were in a long-distance relationship. Vivian is always pulled into Sam’s schemes and adventures, embodying the perfect partner-in-crime. There’s a running joke that Vivian is Sam’s true soulmate in female form.
Best Man
Josh and Wes first met in January of 2011 at the beginning of their young adult lives at UNC Charlotte (neither has learned how to be a grown adult)Josh and Wes remained best of friends throughout college, employment in Charlottes finest moving company, and their anything but normal rollercoaster ride in the Marine Corps where they spent the majority of their 20’s. Throughout life, they have served as an open ear and sounding board from tough decisions on deployments, to the best discounts on dinner spots. They are now knuckle dragging their way through corporate America, where they both have somehow landed in the same space yet again. Wes has always been the mature and even keel adult that has consulted Josh out of many potentially wild and disastrous mistakes, and he is now paying his dues by being the best man. Their friendship has been full of excitement, laughter, horrendous gambling advice, and even worse hangovers.
Bridesmaid
Sam and Wes might never have met if it weren’t for Sarah! A retired stand-up comedian, Sarah was the one who playfully roasted Wes while he was third-wheeling a date on a rooftop in San Diego. Her witty remarks led to Sam and Wes talking for hours that night, and Sarah sealed the connection by giving Wes Sam’s number before making a quick exit. Beyond orchestrating their meeting, Sarah has been Sam’s best friend since childhood, 7 years old to be exact, and introduced her to Christianity by bringing her to church camps and youth group events. Sarah is also a mother to Lilly, which informally made Sam an honorary aunt because Sarah, Matt and Lilly are family. This day owes much to Sarah’s influence!
Groomsman
Wes and Con first met at the beginning of their Marine Corps journey in Quantico, Virginia in 2015. While their paths in the military never coincided, they remained connected through an amazing friend group that remains close knit to this day. The second journey began when they would meet again in New York City in June of 2021 where they lived together in the east village of Manhattan, and began their MBA at NYU Stern. Together, they took the first steps of a completely different life, and were fortunately able to laugh through the many ups, downs and all arounds of finding their way in corporate America. Here, their friendship was strengthened through visiting entirely too many restaurants in NYC, world traveling and talking each other out of terrible decisions. Fun fact: Yes, Tugboats indeed have more Horsepower than Semi-Trucks.
Bridesmaid
Tina is Sam’s closest friend from college. They met at the end of their freshman year and quickly bonded over their shared homesickness and commitment to academic excellence, spending hours in the library trying to understand debits and credits. Their first encounter was memorable; Tina diffused a heated argument between Steve, her now-fiance, and Sam about something they can’t quite recall. Months later, Sam persuaded Tina to let Steve take her out on a date, and they’ve been together ever since. While Sam didn’t mind playing the third wheel with her two best friends, she’s pleased to see Wes and Steve thriving together, especially as they bond over their mutual love of golf.
Groomsman
Big Wes and Little Wes grew up together in Mills River, NC where they spent the end of their high school experience doing everything but studying and going to class. They took advantage of that abundance of free time and became great friends before heading off to a college at UNC Charlotte and living together the entirety of their time there. These years contained a ton of laughter, a lot of mistakes, and the misfortune of meeting Joshua Bredeman. They have remained to be the closest of friends over the years while being separated by states, time zones and even countries. Though they spend a lot of time apart, they’re always able to pick up right where they left off. P.S. Yes, he was actually bald at one point in his life.
Groomsman
Wes and Matt met in Manhattan the summer of 2021 shortly before they began their Graduate school journey together. They quickly became best of friends while going cross eyed together in the several accounting and statistics classes, along with the never ending shenanigans that NYC had to offer. Fate would have it they both share the same detrimental characteristic of soaking up every last second of every good moment, never wanting to go home too soon, and that there is never such a thing as “too much”. They have relied on eachother for a multitude of decisions and advice, and have been sure to make more memories at every opportunity that presents itself.
