11:00 am - 4:00 pm
For those who arrive on Thursday night or Friday morning, we'll be relaxing at the pool and beach at the Courtyard by Marriott in Isla Verde the day before the wedding (weather permitting) and would love for you to stop by and join us for some informal fun and mingling. We'll take the plunge in the water before we take the real plunge on Saturday. The pool is for hotel guests only, but the beach in front of the resort is public, so we'll be going between both depending on where everyone ends up.
5:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us in historic Old San Juan to officially kick off the weekend! We'll be on the second floor of one of our favorite spots. Bartenders will be serving up cold drinks and we'll have some small bites as well. After happy hour, feel free to make a dinner reservation at a restuarant in Old San Juan or just wander the streets bar-hopping and snacking, taking in the atmosphere. Attire can range anywhere from casual to island cocktail. Depending on what your plan is after happy hour, you may want to note the dress code. In some locations, shoes (i.e., not sandals/flip-flops) and long pants may be required for men.
5:00 pm - 11:00 pm
Transportation for the wedding and reception will pick up at 4:15pm from the Courtyard by Marriott in Isla Verde. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can still go there for the bus transportation. If you prefer to Uber directly to the wedding venue, you can do that as well. Buses will drop everyone off at the end of the night back at the hotel.
Attire is what we refer to as "island cocktail." Like most things on the island, it's more casual than classic cocktail attire. Suits, jackets, ties, and floor length dresses are not required. The event will be held outside (partly under tents) with fans, but there will not be AC. While Puerto Rico in April is typically quite pleasant (especially when the sun goes down), please keep this in mind and dress in the appopriate layers and materials so you can be comfortable all evening! Guys, feel free to bust out your linen. Ladies, sundresses are more than appropriate. Note for footwear: we will not be in grass or sand. On the other hand, if you want to dress up a bit more and the tropical climate doesn't affect you, go for it. Feel free to bring along a hand-held fan for the ceremony. We know this group will hit the perfect balance between comfort and style!
11:30 pm
We don't know where the night will lead, but the hotel bar and casino are open late and there are lots of options nearby...
12:00 pm
We'll be around all day but we're not making any official plans on Sunday, so feel free stay an extra day or two to soak up the sun and explore in San Juan, continue on with travel in other parts of PR, or book tickets home :( for this day.
